Really like this!
I'l like to see a phylogenetic study of them, like which other life forms are related, and ancestor species... make a whole new, if small, kingdom (I wouldn't know if consider them animals or plants or... else).

Some say it's just a strategy to take a ride from the nearest magma chamber and drop on everyone in the next eruption. They tried ddossing google many times, we know its servers do well under high pressure, we'll see about high temperature I guess
@hasmis Too bad, I enjoyed your posts.
All the best!
@chupacabra Woah, that's an effective debugging!
@etherealsolkatt
Great idea, only problem I.see is that in a party where everyone kniw each other someone more anonymous may stand out. I'll give that a try nonetheless, worst case scenario I can get free pizza!
@dantheclamman
I'll give that a try, great idea
@dantheclamman
Oh, and how did you discover that?
@paolo@mastodon.partecipa.digital
You got a strategy there, seems solid. Do you also have this power?
I'm not a shy person, I'd say, and I feel quite at ease in almost every context.
It may be a matter of dressing, hairstyle and such, or maybe my way of doing, as you say.
An experiment would start by quantifying people who say hello to me in a new environment for a month, then change clothing style and see if the average trend changes...
@dantheclamman
Mmhm, how would I go to understand if I really go unnoticed or is just in my head, you reckon? A few days ago I introduced myself to a person *for the sixth time*. And she didn't remember me at all.
To make myself clear, I find it awesome. Would like to improve it, if there are ideas on the how to
I think I discovered a superpower of mine: I'm quite anonymous. I usually have to introduce myself 2-3 times as people don't remember ever meeting me before, and I manage to hang around the same places for a while without anyone saying 'hey, I know you'. If something, I got ask 'hey, are you new here?'. That's so amazing.
My questions for the fediverse are:
* any idea on how to properly test this feeling, like in a good experiment?
* thoughts on how to improve this power of mine?
@Freezer
Beautiful shot!
@socalledunitedstates
Never heard about this. I guess there is something considered a 'normal' human, the one you consider as baseline, there are then exceptions in one matter or the other which make individuals. Makes sense to me for a rare genetic conditions to be considered not normal because well, it's rare. 'Divergence' is a term I've nevered encountered in this context, does that just mean 'not normal' or there is something more to it?
@galacticstone
Ahahah, that's brilliant
@socalledunitedstates
in any case, thanks for the thought-provoking exchange =)
My two cents,
When saying people, you may be right. When saying individuals, and I mean of every species, that just wouldn't work.
Mind you, "gain" does not need to be economical, in evolutionary terms individuals (or genes) aim to maximize their fitness - and nothing else.
So if there is a lot of resources, we may not take more that we need as individuals, but we may breed more and on the long run consume more resources, putting the entire ecosystem in danger. We do not have mechanisms to self-regulate the population size, AFAIK. Ecology doesn't just look at individuals.
If by over-using resources I create a conflict with my neighbour, does that help my fitness? I will not have help in case of need, selection will be against me.
At the end of the day, is terribly complex, I don't think there is an easy answer.
@JovialKarma Now, that is a beautiful cup!
