@chrism After I posted here, and scrolled down the page, the count of blocked things was over 50. Yikes. 😟

But I wanted to find a solution - since we both run uBlock and you were not seeing the ugly forced videos.

Found a good article, tried and it fixed it.

Content Blocking in Firefox set to Strict WILL stop it. And uBlock now only sees 11 objects to block, even as I go all the way down the page.

Until now I didn't know about that control on the left side of Location bar. Nice.

Thanks to the tips on this FF page: blog.mozilla.org/firefox/block

@chrism Thank you for posting the article here Chris, there's no need to apologize.

I do have uBlock Origin as well, but there's an annoying playing video that pops up on the right or left columns as you scroll down.

That's on top of the 33 elements uBlock stopped. Argh, awful web design, surprising quality on the article though.

@shibaprasad Thanks for posting it and reminding us. He was a great artist, I grew up with the Beatles new albuns and everyone of them was so different from the last.

George has some beautiful work. And certainly, all things mus pass.

Rest in Peace, George. :flower: 🌈

Taken 18 years ago today. Rest in peace George Harrison. All things must pass. 🙏

You are welcome!

Another user here posted a new topic with an interesting lamp, which produces very intense light, and might help with the Winter blues that affect so many in the Northern latitudes.

@Absinthe I have a feeling the emoji meant something more suggestive (like peach and aubergine), but there's some nice recipes on Bing : bing.com/search?q=Aubergine+an

@pganssle It's true that there were militant actions in the 70s, but what I think is new today is the belligerency of some average person you might meet at a social event. People are adamant about their opinions, and not inclined to listen, consider or change theirs.

If conflict is the likely result of such encounters, it ends up more productive to avoid them, imo.

@bobbygnlv Actually, just clicking in the hastags linked above will bring some adult content pretty quick. Ooops.

Search for '@switter.at' or possibly some related hashtag, like , , etc.

@teknonomicon You probably watched and remember the excellent film "Enemy of the State"?

A little harder to find those days. The IT person in it stated the only secure phone was one with the battery fully removed.

It's worrisome that many or most of newer devices are all glued together, not allowing that. There's an interest of State actors in keeping people under watch if they deem needed.

Scary times. "1984" lives on.

@whirli

Some interesting conversations on the hash that you mentioned.

Is it really taking 14 GB on your phone? 😮

@Absinthe
Happy Thanksgiving, the American Edition. 😉

We had ours about 5 weeks ago, north of the Border. 🇨🇦

@JPR

@pganssle No, it wasn't always this way. The extreme polarization and acceptance of boorish behavoius à la POTUS is a new phenomenon.

People do get nasty and best not to even start an argument with them. There's no win there.

So, smile and have a sip of wine, juice or what is on your cup. Get a refill. Smile and repeat.

It will be over soon, I promise. 😉
