@freemo There's been so much activity in the Local Feed (wonderful!) that you might have missed this.

Kyle is asking if the Blockades will come down.

I posted a bit and went back to reading our long discussion thread (linked inside).

And Gab is not showing in fediverse.space/ anymore

You Good with them Blockers ? LOL... 😜

Wait so if Gab isn't on the Fediverse any longer, is there a likelihood of QOTO reconciling with the instances that blocked us for not blocking Gab?

@null0x0 That will be great -- I absolutely love this site. Amazing what they did.

@richcist Hello Richard and welcome! These guides can be very helpful, I always recommend them to new users.

Enjoy the network and all it has to offer. If you are new to using Mastodon, there's a good guide here: lifehacker.com/a-beginner-s-gu

We also have another new users guide, posted here : write.tedomum.net/rgx/suggesti

@miguel31416 @richcist Sim, como não? Será um prazer.

Já respondi ao novo tópico do Richard. Até já!

@richcist Hello Richard, and yes -- that is a pet peeve of mine.

I have a presentation topic in preparation here : discourse.qoto.org/t/mastodon-

and plan to bring it to the GlichSocial Dev team for consideration.

It's usable, I am writing to you right now using this setup.

Take a look at the article, it has many full screenshots so you can see what choices we have. Ask any questions needed.

@null0x0 Yes, I noticed that just now -- as I took a screenshot of my own Browser, and cut it down to small size to avoid the cropping.

This is due to the complexity of the site -- it shows a concept and allows a practice in the same screen, which must be perfect before it will display the next segment and you can move on to it.

I would not think this site is very usable on a small screen, unfortunately - but will add a note to my article noticing that. Thanks for the feedback! 😃

June's Patch Tuesday came overnight and was very quickly distributed.

I woke up in the morning, and my sleeping mode laptop was awaiting, to return to our work. But -- something had happened.

Browser windows (3) had been closed, and the maybe 80 or so tabs along with them. I have many tabs open for reference and research, in ongoing projects, etc. Plus various sites I am present and commenting thru the day.

The bad part really is that my browser Cookies seem to have zapped and I got logged out everywhere. Including Reddit, where I can't seen to get back in now, argh. (poor password recovery there, doesn't seem to work to send the required recovery email).

So -- be prepared, as it seems this pack has High Priority for installation.

@globcoco

I hope you enjoy being here, and can see that your love of learning and writing will bring interest and activity from other posters. It's like a small party, good to have some conversation started, other people will see, come closer and possibly join in.

That kind of participation really builds communities, and aiming for that is any staff person's goal.

I was so frustrated with the state of our Local feed about a month ago or so. @Phaedrus posting and encouragement did a great deal to inspire me, and we managed a turn around, which makes me happy. I missed the camaraderie we had previously here, in November and December when I joined it was really nice. Then, it faded, as people's lives lead them elsewhere, and we got influxes of people who all had twitter friends and simply talked over to other instances. Local feed plummeted in interaction and quality.

@zleap

@zleap

That is an excellent post and I am glad to see out Forum being used more. Forums really allow so much that is difficult or impossible here -- like detailed formatting, in-line images, etc.

Like my new Topic there to collate all the Cat photos posting accounts --> discourse.qoto.org/t/cat-posti

...which I have already mentioned here in a toot as a preview to this Friday's FF post.

I have used Forums for many years, and hope we can help people see their value -- and how easily we can connect ours here to the mastodon instance, linking back and forth as needed.

Great work, Paul, thank you!

@koyu@koyu.space

That is wonderful, I love the spirit of cooperation and building together. Thank you Koyu! ❤️

@globcoco

You have been invited, and that is a sign someone sees you belonging here. Only Site Staff are able to create invites now. You are good, no worries.

@zleap

@zleap @globcoco I am glad to see you both alread knew the MarkDownTutorial.com website -- I came accross it just at the rignt moment in my journey, when I was first starting the blog in December 2019 and struggling with the ugliness of html markup. Not fun at all.

I found someone's Topic in another instance (visiting others, always fun), and went -- was astonished at how wonderful that tutorial is!

I am a Tech educator, and the tutorial is interactive and the best application of tech to learning that I have ever seen. I took the lessons and practiced, then switched over to my text editor and applied them. Revised the pages I already had made, and started new ones in plain markdown.

Geez, is it lovely! 😺

Latex I have never used, but looks wonderful for complex Math equations, so there's power on it.

Paul, not sure if LaTex is supported in the Forum, although you could create code and finished output here and copy paste images for illustration there.

@globcoco Thank you, Coralie. 😄

We are all Travellers, and it's nice to find a good person, enjoy some good conversation. Glad you came.

@globcoco Hello, good morning...

I added a screenshot of that area in the new Pinafore forum thread, but it's quite easy to find it.

Settings --> Instances ...and a whole panel will open up, with the existing instance connections, a button to add a new one, etc.

Forum topic is easier to read and prettier too : discourse.qoto.org/t/assigning

I am up and about now, coffee is ready, a new day starting. 😄

Some fun being had at the FediBlock brigade hangout. Kyzh, who would ban anything with a pulse of a faint breath, declares that Husky fediverse client is a national socialist piece of software. Because, the author chose not to lock out any instances the users might want to connect to.

Thanks to P for point it out, link in the folded quote.

@tuxcrafting @ThreeOneThreeChris @su @kyzh > kyzh is diferent Apparently he's some kind of fuckin' lunatic, because he thinks that if anyone ...

@realcaseyrollins @khird I went looking at their profile and there's little new posts, after that extensive discussion a week ago or so, linked above.
