@richmartingale Hey, great to have you. drop me a line if you ever need anything or just want to chat.

@kline Yea I think i forgot to finish adding that. Good catch

A lexicon module I wrote in Ruby that goes into rather excessive detail at defining every possible form of pronoun. Who knew there was so much complexity in pronounds.

@PawelK Yes secondary/tertiary sex traits are the name given to certain manifestations of gender. Yes it is easy to change your gender.

You are correct that sex can not be changed, but as we covered gender can. Its important to note that language does, and always has, used gender for pronouns and not sex.

@saxnot I've been around, just posting volume was down while I was int he maldives diving.

So just decided to rewrite my MUD :d20: from scratch and write it in Ruby :ruby: with ncurses this time for fun. It will be open-source :opensource:

@saxnot I wrote in ruby a insanely complete lexicographic module that handles defining custom pronouns among other things... let me see if i can find it

I casually mentioned to someone at work, jokingly, that I needed a sword for the wall on my office back when it was new... few days later he brings me a sword as a gift :) I am still amused.

@PawelK There is correlation yes, but outliers are fairly common considering the breadth of gender, and especially considering that ones gender (outward appearance of masculinity/femininity) can be intentionally changed. If a man gets a sex change he has changed a large portion of his attributes that determine gender, and thus has changed his gender. Women who look masculine have a male gender.

@PawelK Well its not that its a "hint" to sex, it may provide that function. But rather its part and sometimes contrary to the genetics. A person can have male gender (appear outwardly male) yet have female sex, and vice versa. Sometimes this occurs naturally, and in humans sometimes it is dont by choice.

@mkl Thanks for your feedback. I want to start by saying our **goal** is not to maximize connectivity, that just happens to be a side effect of how we operate.

As for the quality of people, ultimately you need to judge that for yourself. I think you will find we have a happy balance of moderates both from the left and the right. Generally the more extreme end of the spectrum on left or the right tend to be absent partly because the farther left you go the more "free speech" tends to be seen as a negative. In the same sense since we enforce respectful discourse and require scientific enthusiasts or professionals we tend to not see the extreme right either. When the extreme right does meander in they tend to not last long since they arent well tolerated here.

In the end all I can suggest is you get to know the people and judge for yourself. I'd say we have more people leaning to the left than to the right so you may find it happy if you do well hovering near the more moderate middle. That said as long as you are respectful your welcome here wherever you fall.

If you do find anyone is disrespectful or bigoted please let me know, we try to act on that and while it isnt usually a huge problem from time to time people will slip in.

@lucifargundam Happens all the time, dont feel too bad. It sucks though.
