> I'll tell you a dishonest idea then
Ok
> It wasn't, and it isn't [a disaster]
Agreed, that is an intellectually dishonest idea.
But in all seriousness, now your just repeating yourself. Yes I heard you claim that the first time. It was incorrect then, and it still is. Not sure why repeating this is useful however.
Intellectual dishonest ideas are ideas intended to make a point known to be false. If the idea is constructed to specifically avoid the truth in order to sell a specific narrative, then the idea is intellectually dishonest.
People who are intellectually dishonest tend to make intellectually dishonest claims. If an idea serves the purpose of intellectually dishonest people, then the idea is intellectually dishonest by extension. When adopted by people who are not themselves intellectually dishonest then the idea remains intellectually dishonest.
But hey if you insist on claiming you are a dishonest person despite the fact that I **explicitly** stated otherwise, go for it, thats all you.
Nothing rude about it. Ideas dont need to be respected, people do. Claiming an idea is intellectually dishonest is not rude or insulting to the individual and entierly appropriate. Now if i called you stupid (which I am not and did not) that would be different.
About running a server / maintenance and not going insane...
@freeschool I work 80+ hours a week... Im not the guy to ask about balancing things. My solution is to just live on a beach while im working :)
@foone this was literally a 0 effort thing. It isnt a **registered** copyright. They literally just stuck a copyright notice on it.
By the way it was copyrighted even if the notice wasnt there.
@volkris Give a concrete example where that might be the case... As someone who is anti-container my first guess would be you are dealing with a learning curve and not an issue inherent to containers.
That depends on the context in which we discuss it. For brits its brits. But we have many other people governed by historic monarchs where this would apply.
I mean, i dont think anyone argues to keep the royalty because they actual serve a vital function in the operation of the government.
In fact the only political power the royalty really have are the ability to dissolve the parliment and have them re-elected. But that hasnt been exercised in quite some time.
They are a figure head, they are kept for symbolic reasons and as a matter of history, nothing else. That is by design.
I mean its horrible to have a miscarriage and all. But are you expecting her to get 6 months off when her child dies at 3 weeks in? A death in the family can usually get you a week or two at best, beyond that its not really the companies burden to pay for you forever over a tragic death.
@volkris Its not about progress for progress sake... containers are objectively better way to go. They save massive amount of time and issues in the long run. The problems we are having is largely unrelated to containers and they are just difficulties around masto in general.
Lovely work!
Either some of the fixes I did yesterday wound up addressing the latency problem we had, or it was intermitten. But everything has been operating fine for the last 12 hours or so. I will continue to monitor the situation but for now everything is in the green on #QOTO
Assuming no more problems trigger we and the team are continuing on building our beta environment which will enable for smooth update role outs int he near future. We have about 5 updates we developed in house we want to apply in the near future.
@jtb it was never a good system. And comparing it to america, which is different in vastly different ways than simply being private (for example a lack of single payer healthcare) is intellectually dishonest to say the least.
Agreed.
@olives I dont understand what you are saying.
@icedquinn Wait, toml is a know standard. doesnt it already have a spec?
I totally agree with you.
But just as a point of nuance, most people seem to object and find it off putting (to put it mildly) when CIS people get plastic surgery too. Breast augmentation and penile augmentation are seen by many (unfairly) as vain and ugly.
My point being, this probably isnt the best example, I do agree with you that people should be free (and not ridiculed) for any type of plastic surgery. But it seems to me whether we are talking about CIS or Trans plastic surgery they receive a lot of hate either way.
