Today was the first walk in the nature with friends after the long lockdown. I felt quite depressed lately, I was psychologically proved, but a single day around made my mood so much better!

I'll post some pictures to make you part of it, and

The habitat was either forest, dominated by Quercus ilex with some human planted pines, or sand dune , which is a beautiful and fragile ecosystem that I think should deserve more attention.
More details in the caption of every pic.

If you feel down, go for a walk in a park, take pictures of weird plants and animals, open a bit to how marvellous this living things are and feel free to tag me

Apparently saying "A virus is a real thing" it is the same as me calling biologists stupid... go figure.

That time soem Swedish parents named their kid "Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116" and insisted it was pronounced "Albin"... yyyeeeeaaaaa

do you think joe bidden practices violating women and being creepy, or is it just his default.

I'm convinced at this point that the DNC is intentionally trying to throw the election. There is no way they could seriously have picked this bad of a canddiate and think they stood a chance.

I still keep hoping a third party canddiate comes along worth voting for. As much as a long shot as that is its the only way I could see Trump potentially loosing the election.

As it stands right now Trump, sadly, has already won.

https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/39817/did-germanys-supreme-court-rule-that-the-measles-virus-didnt-exist

Seeing this claim https://liberdon.com/@akeno/104224848188171368 , I threw "german court measles virus" into DDG and quickly found that @freemo was right to tell the claimant to go away with their nonsense. https://qoto.org/@freemo/104224888663960340

This is the first I've heard of any of this, but it really looks bad on Dr Stefan Lanka to promote such ideas to gullible people, who will then behave in ways that place them at risk of some pretty nasty diseases because "viruses do not exist".

I stopped there, but it would not surprise me to read that Dr Lanka sells supplements or gives seminars ... in other words, that he has a financial stake in having people believe this nonsense.

Just listened to the last episode of the podcast. Quite a few interesting ideas there.
I disagree with a bunch. eg, I don't understand how (which are compulsory) could be called “solidarity” (which is voluntary by definition). And I'd remind & that some donate very little, or to irrelevant or self-aggrandizing causes — but that many others are in fact effective altruist.
On the positive, this conversation will make me question the merits of our meritocracy (pun intended), which doesn't seem to work as well as I assumed. And I think it'll help me find arguments to support my growing intuition that a cap on extreme individual may be morally justified and socially beneficial (I mean a 100% marginal tax rate for wealth above $10B or the like, ie affecting the truly super-rich only).

Anyone got any low carb meal suggestions that isnt just a chunk of meat?

Poochinski was a TV show pilot about a cop who dies and gets stuck int he body of a talking dog and needs to find his killer along with his partner... How did this pilot never turn into an actual series:

youtu.be/LytgLZDzzAY

(it is also referenced on Stargate SG-1 as a joke at one point which is how I found it)

This is the level of stupid scientists are up against...

I really want to try my hand at making some sort of small beer, maybe a ginger beer, mead, or similar...

@nyetoots Hello Friend, and welcome to Qoto.

Enjoy the network and all it has to offer. If you are new to using Mastodon, there's a good guide here: lifehacker.com/a-beginner-s-gu

We also have another new users guide, posted here : write.tedomum.net/rgx/suggesti

You are right in that this mastodon interface is very unlike FB; it resembles Twitter more. But it is also different from that.

After having a Twitter account for many years and NOT using it much at all, I joined here, first time in, just like you.

6 months and 5,500 Toots later, I am happy and a member of this instances Staff, a moderator and above all a community supporter and Builder. You will see a lot of my posts, hope you like Cats, which are one of my big interests; there are a lot of cat photos I bring in; and I daily see many people who Boost and Favourite those.

Also, many new people who discover and Follow my humble account here.

The Fediverse is a lot more than what you see here, there are many wonders to be found; some ugly corners, which we best steer clear from. Ask for any help if you need, we are all in this together.

Have a great Sunday, take the time to read the first guide at least - I think it was the one I first found in a Bing search and used to orient myself here.

There's no GPS, you are in control, and set your course as you see fit. The Guides are our road maps.

Many bright, sensitive and decent people here; many who made this jump years ago. Give it time.

Happy you ventured out of the corporate networks.

A nice idea is recognized and starting to spread.

's Journal is being added to Koyu.space too.
