So I started wearing plain wedding band like rings. Partly because im in a relationship (not married) so it sends the signal to women I am taken... but more importantly as a style choice.

They are mostly cheap rings (Tungsten ~25$ up to cobalt and other mid grade metals at ~100$ to 300$). But I'm picking them out so they have some stripe of color like blue, red, purple, and green. Then matching whatever ring I wear that day to the color I'm wearing... this is probably the farthest I'll ever go for fashion.

My new pistol grips for my Baretta 92X just came in. Absolutely love them. Cant wait to put them on my gun.

Tbis perfectly sums up the left and right extremism I see taking over day by day...

@freemo
I go further in respecting... I respect they exist as my default but then slide the slider down if it's really needed..

For example: I respect bastards are good at what they do but they don't respect me.

I respect others respect other things.
I don't need their respect conditionally to respect them.

Does that fit into one of the types of respect you mean?

Just a reminder, no one needs to respect your opinions, not even friends. People shoukd be respected, but even then only sonfar as they return or earn that respect.

Not a shock to be honest. Considering it is proper english since forever it would t seem unusual to me as a hiring manager though.

You can lead a gift horse to water, but you cant look it in the mouth.

Burns: Well, everybody knows, ‘war is hell`

Hawkeye: War isn’t Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.

Father Mulcahy: How do you figure that, Hawkeye?

Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?

Father Mulcahy: Um, sinners, I believe.

Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell, but war is chock full of them – little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for a few of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

So has been reduced to just a medium to watch braless women bouncing their tities in your face, or has the algorithm just finally figured me out?

@freemo @trinsec @sergeant Yeah, I’ve been running arch for three years now with no issues, performance specifically for Elden Ring and Cyberpunk exceeded windows specifically. Only issue is the few games with anti-cheat, Apex Legends, Dead By Daylight etc- I run a second windows ssd just for these and some work that requires powershell.

@freemo @Theraviranjankr yes I agree, but I think that a more interesting lesson of the toot was that we live in a world where apparently you have repeatable/constant events , so it seems a conservative world. But at a different level of observation, nothing is fixed/constant/absolute.

Life is possible only because there are repeatable patterns, but life is also constantly evolving because everything changes. It is the paradox of the clock face: it seems fixed, but it is moving. It is the paradox of politics: you can defend traditions, but at a larger time-frame, things had to change.

@Theraviranjankr That ststement is no more true than its opposite. There is no such thibg as an absolute position, so you cant assert this either way.

@freemo signing up just to compare is okay, but I'm not signing up to
because the entire point of federation is so that you don't need a separate account everywhere. (Once they actually enable federation)

As for the commotion it seems weird and a lack of understanding what federation means.

Like what does it matter if you are using a small/your own email server if Gmail joins the email system.

They aren't going to start sending you spam (that would get them blocked).

But it does mean you can now send messages to and from people you know on that system, with no down sides.

Having the for each person to choose if they want an ad free small server, or a big player that might have a slicker interface/search (but has adverts), while still being able to communicate with each other is a good thing.

I never would have heard about Threads if it werent for the fediverse... which I find ironic because I signed up to it just to keep an eye, something i wouldnt have done if it wasnt for the anti-threads commotion going on over here.
