When I young exactly 16 I think after high school I remember being in the kitchen and looking out to the garden and my dad said:

"From here either you have to work or go to college... you can't just not do one of those things like take an adventure"... to skill up etc...

This picture comes to mind to what I said in my head (and know college wasn't much better and what little I would do there also)

I took the easy way out to college only to delay working... and maybe even a few jobs at some time are good but the whole things is bad- right from banks to upwards to mini bosses everywhere like a bad computer game with too many bosses copy and pasted on the screen.

But this picture says it all for the wrath I had in my head for people suggesting to me the weak game of playing their game called 'work' - what a fucking joke.

To constantly lose by joining their 'team'. They have designed it well. I respect that - NOW FEEL MY WRATH........DAAAAAD!!!! 😡 :blobangel:
(It's not easy for parents but it's not a good way out to not in not undoing some of this stuff as much as possible and from the beginning like taking one big adventure after high school and dying while resting on your sword of principle). :ms_broadsword:

It takes two to tango and a random lovely person gives me ample audio feedback suddenly which was unexpected and what I wish for in everyone... as we are all pretty good in many ways but sometimes let websites or technological representation get in the way... there is enough on my website for people to take the best from and better not to try and understand it all in under 5sec!

SEEDS / GARDENING QUESTION
- HOW TO PLANT 100'S OF SEEDS? (see pic!)

Saved a lot of seeds - 10's / 100+

Question is making these babies grow (even on hit and miss basis...)

Any help appreciated before I kinda DIY it outside (not much space inside really! I know the cold is needed to stratify / help germinate seed (cold helps start the process) but who know how deep etc

HOW METRICS / COUNTING NUMBERS / SYSTEMS OF MEASUREMENT FAIL HUMANS

(ALMOST HIDING DATA / PARTIALLY REVEALING)

YouTube views as an example here.

YouTube counts how many people viewed a video or is it just counting the video's visits to the page? It's maybe unclear so this is part of a problem / question

- did they actually watch any of the video?
- did they just open and close tab?
- was it most likely a fly-by / mistake?

These would all drastically discount the page visit or video watching number.

So to conclude the number is nice for a number count- but what it's counting (all the uses) IS NOT... showing for metrics to be worth you really need lots more metrics else it's misleading... (which opens up doors to manipulation / scams / misleading numbers)

SUMMARY
So imagine metrics were clearer and showed
- the visits where someone open closed within 30secs
- video watched %'s (like did they watch only from middle to end and not start?

Arguably this is more of a page hit counter* and while it might not suggest it's a 'video watched' counter you can see there is responsibility ON BOTH SIDES to consider what the conditions and cases to increment pages are -
- and could mean far less YouTube numbers from people clicking this video instead of that.. or looking for a particular version of a video for "Gangsta's Paradise" or anything with many versions- you might click all fo them and +1 many pages without actually watching !

So unless there is further clever metrics (perhaps even clever metrics for socially important data) then it's misleading and doesn't show if people stuck around more than 10seconds /
how long user watched for and what we as users could check to answer "how many people watched 80% consistently?")

Instead we just have numbers which almost hide these metrics and this is the danger if it's money, politics or anything measured but doesn't measure the cases or conditions (and even doesn't want to by those funneling stats deliberately only in some semi-transparent ways like this youtube example where 100% FOR SURE every video has a BIG dropout count but still counts as 'viewed' or 'seen' or 'watched' when it's TOTALLY NOT)

CONCLUSION
-Numbers are misleading and while it depends how serious you are it means metrics can be taken less seriously,
-Metrics often demands FULL ACCESS OR TRANSPARENCY or some infinite sub-measurements in order to be seen properly from different angles and filters (and which would probably defeat the whole reasoning why to measure). Even if YouTube was a bit clever and waiting to see if user was still watching after 30seconds then you get into "what constitutes watching properly a video, 50%, 80%, 100%?)
- For humans our brain sometimes does better to reason things ourselves so for YouTube video "who cares" if 20% of the video counter is NOT from proper views- but for life these numbers obviously count much more!

A combination is probably best but I feel it's way more manipulation by industry and bosses to look at numbers and not reality of sub cases and a kind of fascism to not care or only care for number / order / standards / progress etc.

Any company we work for has a loan and is just an in between for the same relationship (to pay back %).

Working to pay banks who charge for loans / mortgages etc means they are the root of life AND they are creating more debt every time there is more lending
(and the % or total gets bigger all the time it's unpaid).

Greed and Banks are a big problem. V£RY BIG.

Financial regulation can change what you do in your job (example implementing; digital back-doors / KYC / kill-switches etc into software or almost anything)...
and this is evident in efforts again Bitcoin and other competition to the mainstream...

You're jobs can be changed to help work towards evil. Legal changes etc are all happening to be more precise slowly but surely.

The force behind this and what effects everything is the Central Bank wanting to force their own Digital Currencies. (monetary demons / parasites).

Changing the future of money changes *many* other things- perhaps everything.

Long Version

As usual any job can be used against you as it pays your bills so in many ways they (gov / banks) can change the standards / the rules / regulations by ask you to do things which end up working again the common good when people do whatever people say for money.

Implementing a standard backdoor or similar is what I'm getting at. It's going to be very real if standards are set by government for whatever xyz reason similar to the typical 'safety' reasons or 'preventing fraud'... etc

As a stark example people in war were making bomb parts and didn't know it, so if that's possible (similar to how codes can be put together) then you might not even know you implementing the components if you're part of something you don't see. So again compartmentalizing or making something a feature can seem good one day but then be together to be a weapon the next...

Anyway there is a pattern happening across all sectors - leaning towards people getting people in jobs to do what industry / gov wants - all backed by banks allowing wages to go through. You are also included in this pattern I mention and I give you an 'inevitable' factor when coming down the ladder of alignment and looking who can implement it the software developers stark going dark in order to get paid (live)

Rather than squash weeds a better return-on-investment is through jobs force you softly over, or all in one go, to do things different (and this we know is true from having jobs I think for any of us).

Although I'm not the most articulate I believe the pattern has long been happening and the COVID stuff accelerating it somewhat... going for people through their wallets, livelihood etc is the best tactic and always was. Eventually making it harder and harder not to do what they said or choose your ethics over your job until there might be no jobs left (I would advise you to fight to change your existing rather than leave and let a fresh developer step into the mess and expect them not to bend)

Developers are the way for government and that means you as a developer are being targeted same as the next tools and leverage to force change for them or trojan horse whatever it is they don't want unless they regulate it (alternate currencies are one example).

I'm stupid but I'd like to check if you knew "Save Snapshot As" (right click on video) can save a picture from your favourite video in Mastodon!

Coolio and Wonder performed the song live at the Billboard Awards in 1995. Billboard listed it at number 69 on its "Greatest Songs of All-Time".

Coolio received a Grammy Award for "Best Rap Solo Performance" for this song at the 1995 ceremony.

"Gangsta's Paradise" was featured in the soundtrack to "Dangerous Minds". Michelle Pfeiffer who starred in the film said that this Coolio's track was the reason the film was so successful.
