Is there a way to see if a person's server I'm messaging is not communicating with our server or blocked?

Few people I msg said we can't see each other's msg / someone is blocking which is ok as long as I know at the time trying... instead of sending message and waiting a looooog time (msg will never reach them)! :)

Like a colour highlight or message to say "This person won't get your direct message as one of you is blocking" or similar.

Does something or some way exist?

#bluesky is *not* a #decentralized network because without their main server yours is useless.

So while you can #selfhost like Mastodon, they can actually disconnect you at any time or just selectively block your server's access to others whenever it's suit them.

That would be like #Mastodon needing 1 main Mastodon to exist for yours and other to exist, otherwise nothing. That is a BIG #dependency and very #political too being profit based and perhaps testing to see how far users will go to allowing profit making techniques on them.

Bluesky is therefore weak now and later, and also allows the classic #rugpull technique when the main server starts getting more political or profit orientated and doesn't like or need you any more. Then you will reallyknow about it!

These other systems ends up with a #rugpull and people saying:

"oh no Bluesky is so bad now, how could it get so bad? I'm leaving for the next thing (...that #rugpulls me again!)

Removing any server's access is too easy and allow them to make continual ultimatums for people to follow regardless of it's use, so their upgrades and 'features' might just but profit orientated (to snoop on you, exploit etc) just for your server to continue existing as usual.

Very #conditional and not like #Mastodon which doesn't have that disconnection or ultimatum looming over people's head...

So not everything is quite written off as #gaming but similar dynamics and even excuses not to interact with *people* and potential things that get undermined or deleted eventually (yes we can use tech but we have all the basic tech already for people to interact - not need for any more, just maintain #email, #jitsi, #bigblubutton, #torrent, #p2p, #Mastodon, #XMPP, #FTP (not even nextcloud / open cloud etc as FTP is native to os and strong for small or even large groups, Debian still uses it for example) and a few other solid protocols

ALL else is a bit of a time dump if people can't themselves communicate - so this is what needs work - even if you build the best sports car, people are still the weak link and wreck everything unknowingly - they themselves are a wreck due to history and mal-practice of contact between people.

Seems to just apply a kind of therapy as the basic work is the best way via Jitsi and go "at the speed of trust".

Fediverse could be more caring of people as a "system" but isn't yet since existing people also are not orientated that way (at least online) and also a bit flakey let's say and can't do / trust much... like being afraid of one's own shadow 👥 or imperfections.

So Mastodon is great - it is a step UP from "just another" "system" and better without advertising etc. But needs the people directly involved also to save Mastodon in a way when it has no money...

Next level is the caring by admins supporting users to do their own things they like EVEN MORE

As a circular economy in many senses - creativity / allowing creative ways to promote ourselves / encouraging finances for servers / advertising like-minded project just like Mastodon (like Invidious) and beyond....

If we don't we kind of naturally die out or need Venture Crapitalism...

#Mastodon for example is growing and so are the youtube links which is Google.

So YouTube Google on Mastodon or linking to making a kind of Advert Farm for them here - which is not the aim but often comes first with users and is not acknowledged or curbed enough (or at all) by admins and users to do different or try something else (filtered links or firefox plugin etc)

Those who might have come here for similar reasons (non adverts) put links with adverts! Crazy!

So we grow the SAME cancers here / allow links tracking users or just link to non-Mastodon #ethics and expect that to work?

Because, as I see it IT'S THE RIGHT HUMAN RESPONSE TO THE WORLD AND EACH OTHER:

My attempts have failed. #Mastodon saying "Muted" on someone's profile probably means they just got a few too many posts or redraft notifications - maybe that one time you did a redraft x10 or quoted them a lot.

Would be good to manage that as fans or researchers would naturally amend things 100 times and perhaps a "timeban" would be much more useful instead of manually remembering when to unmute someone doing good work but too fast in a short timespace (even a day timeban would be cool and forgiving)...

Q1/ Is it text only? Do you see your pictures with your posts aftr processing?

Would make sense because any archive with regular posts an pictures will gets into gigabytes ...

Q2/ So how to link the pictures to text AND THEN SAVE in similar format? (But this would be almost impossible because of the tool it's one big scroll which is cool but hard to balance on screen...)

...so Q3/ How to save each post and picture to single file? (for better saving / maanagement)

Usually you get outbox.json and image files after opening the downloaded compressed file...
