Just finished playing through The Spectrum Retreat. That story got pretty dark near the end. I'll have to do another playthrough someday for the other ending. Even though you start off in a hotel managed by robots, it's all about the puzzles in the secret areas.
It is very much an elaborate puzzle game where you swap colors with cubes so you can go through the appropriately colored forcefields. And later teleport to the appropriately colored teleporter receivers. And then later get dizzy because you can change gravity too and that is seriously disorienting (as if motion sickness wasn't bad enough..).
I just wish that the last level was divided up in smaller sections, because if you make a mistake you can't get out of you have to redo everything in that level and that's getting tedious if it's a huge level. :P
Anyway, glad I managed to finish it! Some puzzles were pretty tricky. The game sortakinda reminds me of Polarity and has a Portal vibe, except a lot more slower paced and it has a storyline.

Uh been playing MacGuffin's Curse for a few hours...
I continued off an old save I had and had to figure out again wtf I was supposed to do. I guess I'm doing well because the save completion percentage went from 52% to 76%. :P
Definitely time for a break, my brain feels broken now. It's like Sudoku, but a more extreme version of it (hey, you turn into a werewolf, if that ain't extreme, then I don't know what is!).

In the game Talisman: Origins, when I defeat an enemy spirit, I have the option to capture it as spirit or to take it as a trophy.
Trophy is pretty straightforward, but what does capturing a spirit actually do? They become part of my followers, but what's the advantage of that?
I can't seem to find information about it. Their manual only mentions trophies, nothing about capturing spirits.

Once again I've beaten emperor Stuck. This time I can add the Warrior to the list of classes that's defeated him.
Having 'All front cards become this type' and 'Destroy all cards of this type' combo is pretty nice. Especially when there are a lot of columns on the screen.
When facing the emperor himself, I mostly chose those Wildstones as the type, hence why I have a nice amount of Wildstone Cards accumulated here, usually it's about 4-5 of those after a session. I can buy nice upgrades with this! 😁

Ehh, I'm not sure but I think either the repair/sell labels or icons are swapped. I'll be pretty pissed if I accidentally sell a satellite when I wanted to repair them. :P

Whew, 100%ed the achievements of Crash Drive 3. That was quite a ride! Still a fun game but I think I probably should take a break now, lol.

So, my current Steam Winter Sale purchase consists only of DLCs. The actual games I purchased were all Fanatical bundle games. ;)
#Games
I'm really a sucker for Fanatical's Build-Your-Own-Bundles...
*Is a few games richer again*

So far I've bought more games from Fanatical than from Steam this Winter Sale. :P

Man, Monster Slayers is a bit broken here and there. It's a nice game but it's also very unpolished.
So I tried out the Knight class, and was in a dungeon fighting a Troll. Well.. he got regen 25 eventually. But surprise, so did I! I have a nice trinket which can up my regen gradually!
So, both got to regen 25 (max possible), and both were not strong enough to lower each other's HP permanently...
That was boring. I aborted it and quit the damn knight. I'll play some other class instead. The rogue was actually a lot of fun with stealing the opponent's cards. Might go for it again.

Just finished playing Carto. If you're wondering what to buy this Winter Sale, I can really recommend this one.
It's a fun adventure puzzle game which is fairly unique and creative. You get to manipulate the area layout with the map pieces you collect on the way. Darn, a river in the way? *Shuffle shuffle* Well, no more!
You also get to meet various interesting characters who help you find your way back to granny. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed every moment playing this cute game.

I love it that Ryo's car in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection (yes the game's name is this long) is basically an Outrun arcade, and your character sits in there to play... Outrun... while you use that whole arcade setup as a car in the race. :D
That car's stats is pretty well suited for me too, drifting is fun!
I'm really liking this new joypad, it's cheap and it works sweet! And turns out it has force feedback too! Just found out that the first race game I played simply didn't have FFB support, heh!

I'm enjoying this new gamepad I bought, now I can play racing arcade games properly again. ;)

Looks like I'm playing LotRO again with my buddy. This time on the Treebeard server where XP gain is more than halved. Means we'll be in the level 1-50 zones for much longer. Those were the most enjoyable zones anyway, the newer ones are all just shit. We also upped the difficulty to 'Deadly', which is not that deadly so far. But that might change later. Unless they meant we are a deadly combo, a killer combo.. :P

Despite Humble's sneakiness with the donation percentages, I have to admit that the games in the Humble Digitized Tabletop Bundle are pretty good.
Just for $1 you can get Solitairica, and that's already worth it. It is some sort of RPG/Roguelike-ish solitaire game. It looks very cutesy, but it is actually a brilliant strategy card game.
The other games in the higher tiers are totally worth their prices as well. Most of them are card games, and I absolutely love card games. Haven't seen a decent Humble Bundle in a long time. I hope they improve their upcoming Choice games too.

The latest Humble Digitized Tabletop Bundle is actually pretty damn interesting. I was interested in all those games. So I checked out...
Default:
- 5,73 to Publishers
- 0,44 to charity
- 2,64 to Humble
Extra to Charity:
- 5,07 to Publishers
- 1,32 to charity
- 2,42 to Humble
Wtf? That's barely anything extra to charity at all despite the name. Humble ain't that generously humble after all.
So I went custom:
- 1,33 to Publishers (1 cent more than Humble :P)
- 6,18 to charity
- 1,32 to Humble (can't go lower, sneaky)
If they had the 'Extra to Charity' actually mean something, I'd not have thought much about it. But this was just insulting!

I knew Hexcells Infinite got dark mode implemented about a year ago. I didn't get around to playing it again until recently. Turns out this is very enjoyable, it even has brightness settings for the dark mode! It sure beats staring at a blinding screen of white!
Plus the addition of easy access to usermade levels made this game a lot more replayable. Woo!

Playing a bit of Reigns: Her Majesty.
During coronation I had to spray my perfume at the end of the rite. I do this by dragging the bottle of perfume from my inventory to the head of whoever was talking to me. Fine, I can do that.
Hurray, the coronation's a success! It's over now!
Next person I speak to happens to be a nun, I wanted to spray her as well. So, dragging the perfume bottle over to her head. She went away.
The king popped up, asking why I'm throwing stuff at people now!
I decided to 'spray' the king as well. He went away.
The archbishop came up. He reprimanded me that I can't simply manipulate this court with any old object I have in my bag!
Eh, whatevs. *Throws bottle at the bishop*
Whoopsie.
If you're not a gamer, and you don't understand why people would want to spend time gaming... don't worry! It's apparently a bit of an acquired skill! Just like people who never read don't have a reason to pick up a book until they learn to!
This video was a very interesting look into how a non-gamer would react to current videogames as observed by a gamer!

So, don't worry if you don't grok Skyrim or any of those so-called 'grand' games. Not every game is for everybody. That said, even Patience is a game. ;)

Decided to boot up some game I never played before (by scrolling through my huge game library and then just checking if I'm in the mood for that type game I randomly stopped at).
I landed on Tricorne Lab. Turns out this is a puzzle game that went from 'meh' to 'oh my fucking god my brain is melting!'. The difficulty ramps up very fast. :P
The nice bit is that it introduces one type of tool functionality per level at first, but later on you need to use a shitton of them together in one level.. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!

What I've noticed when playing RTS games is that I'm a turtler. I take satisfaction in totally building up my area/station/empire/whatever infrastructure and then 100% dominating everybody. Speedruns ain't for me here.

Main account is now on @trinsec
I've resigned as moderator on Qoto.org since 29-aug-2023.
This one is now a backup account, my activities on Qoto will be low.

Used to be on another mastodon server regularly, but it's been inaccessible since November 2020. So I've decided to join Qoto instead! I like the features this server has to offer.
