@peterdrake
Regarding point 5, I actually had tested that before.

Mastodon.art blocks qoto.org.
Todon.nl is neutral with both.

I post something. Todon boosts it. Mastodon.art didn't see it.

@peterdrake Hu, why is fast food two blocks from your house a good thing?

@Floyd Honestly, they should've folded that piece of cloth inside out. Standard practice when washing printed stuff.

Just sent off a mail to Nacon to ask for clarification which is which with those GC-100 controllers. There seem to be 2 models associated with the GC-100(FX) and I can't tell them apart in those online stores.

Neither can those stores as they often display BOTH models in their product images. πŸ‘€

Upon hearing from a buddy that there were at least 2 fights and 17 yellow cards, I wonder if I missed out on a spectacle. But hey, I gamed during this time, so all is right. ;)

17 yellow cards, apparently a record at a world cup. I guess we were good at something!

Well, on the upside it means that the football craze here is over. That's worth something too! πŸ˜‹

Not that I had noticed it that much anyway, december isn't really a great time for people to go outside and watch football at a BBQ. πŸ˜‚

@torq Mm yeah, I can see why he can go fuck himself. Thanks for answering.

Reading, watching movies, listening to music, playing videogames. You enjoy them but don’t see them as a form of escapism? Most entertainment is a form of escapism, even the ones you listed.

And you seem to exaggerate a lot:

‘There’s something sadistic in someone thinking that a bunch of kids permanently living in their own brains is a good thing.’

What makes you even say that? One classroom activity, and you think they’re “permanently living in their own brains”? It looks like a very intellectually stimulating activity to me.

As to why do they like it, it is a way for them to try to create order in chaos. It is a coping mechanism. Autistic people will always have trouble trying to figure out non-verbal cues in any given social interaction. It will never get easier. This helps them.

I don’t think you quite understand the scale of exhaustion here after social contact. You, like everybody else, find social contact exhausting after a while. Yes, of course, that’s normal.

But when would you find it exhausting? That is where it differs. Let’s talk scale: It might take 10 hours before you need a day of rest. It might take me 1 hour before I need 10 days of rest.

You’re still underestimating hugely.

First to make a few things clear:
I am autistic myself.
And I have a fairly good understanding of what those kids might go through.

What if they actually like analyzing data and all that? Computers be damned, they’re just tools, doesn’t mean humans can’t have a shot at it too.
Sometimes I am hyperfocused myself, then I make ridiculous lists of lists and whatnot. Waste of time? Oh, absolutely, you bet! But was it satisfying to me? Oh yeah!

They’ll have plenty of time to learn how to socialize, but does that mean you need to put them in a fascist regime that only forces them to socialize and never have fun?

After one evening of socializing, I’ll be happy to have 3 weeks of no human contact. I don’t hate humans, it is just that social contact is utterly exhausting.

Maybe try to understand that.

@josemanuel How’s playing a game helpful for society in the first place? Let them be themselves, they already have to suppress so many feelings in society.

Although this actually sounds useful. They learn to analyze data and compare sets and apply from one to the other.

@koyu Man, that looks pretty stupid. Well, it'll just join my huge list of games to be ignored. :D

@gpowerf Oh! That was part of the Stadia hardware? Nice refunding then! :D

@gpowerf Zero? Woh, nice deal then. :D Mine's Nacon controllers Xbox style for about 25 euro each. I try to get them as cheap as possible. But I don't think i can get those things for 0 euro. :D
