You know the phrase that the grass is greener at the other side? Ok, maybe not grass here, but my neighbours at either side of my house certainly have a lot more branches to deal with than I do.

It isn't really that windy anymore so I walked a small round around my neighbourhood to check up on damages. Didn't see toppled trees or damaged roofs or missing solar panels which is a good thing. The street was full of leaves and twigs but otherwise still accessible. But the walkway behind our gardens was littered with huge branches. Exactly at the spots of the garden entrances of both neighbours. 🤣

I'm lucky my garden is basically between those 2 huge trees in the park behind our gardens. 😅 I've got only some small sweeping job to do.

When you think 'where are all those little birds hiding in this severe weather?' the answer is likely 'under dense low foliage'.

When it started raining again, I saw quite a lot of little great titties hopping from underneath the shrubbery in front of my house, probably searching for worms. They're fine. And cute. :blobcatlove:

My other neighbour's garden had a very big branch fallen on top of the trampoline there. As if the branches aren't bouncy enough today!

Saw a few big branches break off and end up in my neighbour's garden. I think he's got a bigger sweep job to do than me tomorrow.

Starting to... oh gods that's pretty stormy. That tree is almost horizontal.

Ooh, it gets even better. So a class wants a laptop, but according to my administration they already have one. Turns out it was collecting dust on one of their shelves, they never bothered to check..

Of course, after more than 3 months of no contact with the network, those devices automatically get kicked out from the network. Now I can send this laptop off to the IT to please add this to the network again. :P

Keeping track of which laptop should be in which classroom is proving to be exceedingly difficult here. Even if it's labeled under the laptop in which class this laptop should be in, it'll still be in a completely wrong classroom!

Or! Get ready for this.. we get the laptop back on our desk with the post-it note on it: We found this in our classroom, oops!
But... the label is telling me that it SHOULD be in that classroom! Why do we get it back?!
And then they still want a laptop.

Help me to make sense out of this please! 😂

To anyone thinking about joining BlueSky, especially artists: everything you post is used to train generative AI models.

BlueSky uses AI to label content for moderation, and to do that they use a company called thehive.ai. If you look through their privacy policy, you will see that they use all content sent to them to train models for all their services, which include generative AI for both text and images.

It’s a built in “feature” and cannot be turned off.

Grabbed those DLCs that I didn't have yet. I'm greatly enjoying the new dynamics that got introduced with some of those.

The Docking mechanic is interesting and makes you have a bigger hand next turn in a way.
The missing faction pairings also are nicely not missing anymore.
And some bases get cheaper if you play cards of the same faction first, so a 9-cost card can become a 5-cost card or even lower if you play it right. :D
There are some more little details, but don't recall off top of my head right now.

Definitely having fun with this. :)

Also ordered me a Steam Deck Dock, forgot to mention that yesterday. Then I can use my Steam Deck as a full Linux system. Well that's my hope anyway, because I seriously don't use it as a gaming console much at the moment. My gaming laptop is more convenient. ;) I don't go out enough for a gaming handheld. :P

If you're scrolling through the local timeline on a knitting instance, would that be called loomscrolling? 🤔

Kinda pondering about grabbing all the DLCs I haven't got yet in Star Realms. That's about 5 DLCs, and I do play this game every day. This would give me more play options.

Grabbed 2 Steam games so far in this sale. ROOMS - The Toymaker's Mansion, and Tangle Tower. A puzzle game and a detective game. I've played Detective Grimoire before, so I'm familiar with the latter. ROOMS itself seems to be a very solid sliding puzzle game.

Had a weird craving to eat the shittiest sausages possible (knakworstjes)... I happened to still have a can of that rubbish food left and it's only expired by 3 months (of something that can be kept for years) sooo...

I'm definitely cured of this craving for the coming 5 years now. 🤢

Now to drink tea to get rid of this awful taste! 😅

Sometimes my brain confuses me. A lot of words have an overlap in many categories.

There's this handy note taking app Obsidian, and if I read a title on a forum thread saying 'What is your occupation as an Obsidian user?' I have to think of Star Trek Deep Space Nine instead... the Obsidian Order, and the occupation of Bajor.

Oh but that's not all, there's more!

I'm playing Minecraft Vault Hunters lately, so my mind's on that game regularly. But Obsidian's got 'vaults' as well.. so when someone complains in some forum thread about how to handle two languages in a vault, like English and French, I thought 'uhhh.. what two languages?' And then somebody else commented something about metadata and I got even more confused until I realized I'm in the Obsidian category.

We need more unique words damnit.

In a bunch of hours there'll be the Summer Steam Sale if I'm not mistaken. Wonder if there'll be any event going, though I think that might be a thing from the past.

Changed my stance on AI art, post as much of it as you can in the places they train the AIs

When a cat is napping in a most crazy position you might be like 'awwww, how dorky, so cute!'

But with mine I'm thinking 'mmm, is he still breathing?'

The joys of an elderly cat. :P

Ah, now I remember what the OceanGate CEO reminds me of with his dumb comments about safety.. Cave Johnson.
