@otso I just refuse to read or write any language that doesnt go left to right, thats where I draw the line :)

@otso I don't speak hebrew. Being in charge of an Israli company about to go public it would certainly help if I did.

@otso For the moment, Israel.. been hopping around the middle east for the last year. Im originally from America and used to live in the Netherlands as well.

@albertcardona the web interface works well from the phone and comes recommended by a few, but fedilab is the app i usually use. Not sure if it handles our full character size or not as I dont post long things from my phone.

@bjorn Of course they **can** configure their environment.. As I said they usually dont want to as pros are stickler for standards, and right now master is the standard as defined by git itself.

You seem to be missing the point ::shrug::

@albertcardona So, not all apps are written up to date and aware of all features... The app you are using puts an artificial limit on the characters rather than checking with the API like it should. Some apps are written poorly is all, use a better one :)

As for why you might not see all posts, sometimes its a rate limiting thing. Other servers sometimes limit the history of users when you first see it because there is just too much traffic to the server right now **and** this is the first time anyone from here is looking at their profile. Usually once someone is followed after some time (depending on how busy the network is) older posts start to manifest.

@trinsec

With so many people asking for it lately I really im moving this to a higher priority and will try to get to it soon, we need a new release anyway.

@ktschuett

@frox

Lets distill the need if I may...

What is being asked for is basically a way to change a mastodon/AP/Fediverse server's **domain** while keeping its identity, so users from the old domain appear as the same users but on a nnew domain?

@kaip @ademalsasa

@frox

That just sound like the already existing CNAME records.. they point to other domains and not to IP

@kaip @ademalsasa

@leiqiongwan Here ya go, as requested a list of all the local qoto bots.

QOTO Announcements & Polls
Just a little note about #QOTO bots. We just revived our old bots over at QOTO. You can find a list of the bots at the end of this post One note: ...

I really like the feature on my instance () where I can make a list that shows posts with any of a set of hashtags. I've got one list that shows me all posts tagged or , and another that shows me anything tagged , , , , or .

@freemo

@rreverser

I am defining pro as a person who has expert level understanding of the git tool, nothing else. The fact that such people usually use the command line tool and not a web interface is secondary to that.

@bjorn @patricia@mastodon.social

@leiqiongwan We allow bots here but with conditions... namely, they must post unlisted (meaning they wont show in the federated or local timeline and are only visible if you follow them).

That said I know of no list, though there probably are some. There are even instances devoted to just bots.

@kaip

The reason for MX record is because if you have domain.tld you may want to host a website at a different IP address than you want to host your website on, so you have MX for that.

Mastodon, however, already **is** a website. So it makes no sense. Only way this would be useful is if you wanted to host the UI for mastodon at one IP and tthe backend activitypub API at a different IP. But this isnt how most fediverse servers are designed anyway.

@ademalsasa

If you move your server to a new IP address and update your DNS record accordingly then it will work just fine... I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish with an MX like dns record.
