Wonderful.
I thank the stars who guided me here, a brand new user in fediverse very recently, and finding my home at a place with this very essential control -- I had noted it and used it to block an instance I object to already, days ago. Made a public post and explained it to other users too, because I think it's a great tool to keep things sane.

Part of the problem, a big one, is the parent's themselves being frayed and distracted by incessant media and notifications, imo.
It is a real concern indeed. WE have too much information, and struggle to cope. A lot of it is worthless, some might say planted for distracting people from more serious issues.
Sometimes it seems that things would improve if we lost some of the current deluge, massive communications overload.

I long for the day where mothers spend more time with their baby girls (and boys) reading books and teaching them about the stars than they do taking pictures of their kids in cute outfits...
Sadly things seem to be going in the opposite direction.

More to the point, I suspect because teeth are so simple it's easier to notice that the texture is wrong. Looking at a couple of generated faces I was able too notice weird artifacts on the skin in some cases, but they were much harder to notice than the teeth (if they were wrong).

I find it interesting that the AI used to produce the faces at https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/ are so good yet the teeth in the images are usually the only part that looks off, sometimes its really bad. I can always identify it as fake from the teeth where the rest of the face looks real.
Odd because you would think the teeth would be the easy part,.
FYI christmas started this weekend in the netherlands and lasts all the way until the end of the year.
It is kinda a big deal :)
I think the reason #QOTO has been highlighted in the top banner at joinmastodon.org is because we are currently one of the fastest growing instances on the list.
Very cool considering we are also the largest one too.

We don’t ever wanna be a burden on you. We really hope we don’t make you feel obliged to reply to all the peasant crap we post.
As it is its a privilege to get to talk to the many brilliant people I have met here that I could otherwise never have encountered.
But we shouldn’t push it. People have lives.
Goodluck with your venture and we hope it takes off with an unmatched escape velocity.
I wanted to apologize to all my followers for forgetting to reply to some posts or messages. If I do feel free to remind me, I have been very busy trying to get my new startup off the ground.
FYI I only have two conditions for people I follow, if you meet these criteria I will always follow you:

2) You engage with me through conversation and do so respectfully.

I do actively follow people daily, usually a good number of people. But I also routinely go through my list and unfollow people if they have been idle or get disrespectful too. So my follower count tends to stay on the lower side.

Just because someone is anti-liberal doesn't make them pro-conservative, or vice versa.
Watching 1984 again, I wish i had the time to reread the book. I forgot how good this story is.
