Hi, (Roger writing)

As you may know, I received a five-year sentence for making a 20-minute speech calling for civil disobedience in July. I was not at all involved in any actions or their planning.

I was there to explain, as I have done hundreds of times before, why we have to peacefully step up and stop the greatest crime in : the decimation of the lives and livelihoods of billions of people by the continued emission of carbon.

My sentence is the longest since the Second World War for peaceful , and the reason is obvious.

Stopping the burning of at the speed needed involves challenging the most powerful and interests. With the rise of a denier to the US presidency, this situation has never been more urgent.

Since founding Extinction Rebellion in 2018, I have been the UK's most successful climate campaigner. I set up the largest climate civil disobedience organisation in the Western world.

At the time of my imprisonment, I was doing vital international networking to bring people together and fundraising for the global resistance movement we need to stop the terror that is being imposed upon us.

The world is going to go over 2 °C in the next decade.

Let's be in no doubt about what will happen: appalling suffering and injustice beyond imagination.

@freemo CAPITALISM THE WORD - A MOMENTARY REVISIT

I like this video clip and replying to it with you here because he mentions and " " adding "broadly defined" right after in the sentence to show he's Capitalism in the broad sense - which I think is a good way to say it and define it broadly so that someone doesn't take too much offence or inaccuracy from it being said.

(More below but I'm not asking you for more on that, just a rounding off for me and seals the deal on the word or it's popular usage).

So also without something appended I am totally forgiving now to anyone using it without that or without any subset / type of Capitalism because even after we talked about it, it was still unclear or hardly possible to separate it in the modern sense (or became so today) and not far at all from what people mean it despite the nuances.

So at most I might call it "Modern Capitalism" or as Rogers said "Capitalism, broadly defined" to define the Capitalism today because even after our non-short talk about it, we still got to the same-ish points where it was still unclear and more towards what less-nuanced people mean.

So I wanted to say I'm forgiving of people since the non-harmless / non-accumulative sense of the many other problematic things related to Capitalism today hardly exists, not many examples , or not practiced / relative to the today.

(Not asking you for more on that, for me a rounding off and seals the deal on the word or it's popular usage)

⚠️ MAJOR #Problem with #Commonism or any theory of change... ⚠️ ⬇️ 

Any proposed system or way that does not expect resistance against it actively seems for me an unrealistic new system or transition to put into any practice.

We will surely have a phase involving all many things (stresses and types of people in the way wanting to keep the existing going at the same time). Not sure if any will suddenly have a change of heart or will to try something - maybe because it relates themselves so much even knowingly, just professionally.

Education might work... but even that has to be done right and things will still going during that and not many know when the exit point is or what transition means more than 'let's see' and 'sit and wait' a bit - maybe 'test' some of it in the academic sense (not many live it)

Those people that are professionally invested and employed are pretty good at being bad and sticking to it daily quite well. (It's no accident or it's not stupid people). It's what they are paid to do and good at it. Even knowing the underlying dirty work still doesn't really deter people from what 'works' (and at least pays them).

They probably do sleep well on their yachts, buying luxury with piles of money. And even lower down, people don't want for a lot less when it comes down to it. I know from experience trying to 'free' people who only are so desperate to pay, or be minimal when you can eat the whole lot... Even the poor people don't want freedom sometimes unless really desperate. Tried most my life if various ways. It's been shocking at times like birds that don't really want to fly out of a cage or want to be responsible for their own lives and those of others ⚠️

A lot is psychological and mind over matter because people don't care for others to that extent! Smaller stuff like reading lots... nah. Sorry! Don't have time for _those_ things!

On the Fediverse very few might try something (or even respond).

The will of the existing rulers or employees are strong and that keeps what they want (and what they don't want).

They don't want the new or to be more free unless it does MORE of the same ways as before. They are enforcing the future and stealing it.

➡️ Free is also a danger for us because governments actually will use things against us. They don't pay for many needed things but then pay for grants or research - but not towards freedom, but of course the same stepping-up of the game they were interested in before - otherwise they would have paid for it freedom 100 times already and we could have solved much of it with the profit... or inventions of fertilizer, the major inventions and techniques - but instead it's just made worse and pushing the boat out a bit further / the same but larger scale even at risk of it all breaking / rotting things.

All can be GREAT theory (really) by you and others - but there is the same experiences happening when trying...
...BECAUSE NEARLY EVERYTHING has always had deliberate challenge and shut down not least relating to their ego(s), muscle-mindedness, control, physical / primitive of restricting others (jailing them) etc etc...

And I don't mean evil or corporate people only - I mean people like our parents so far behind they'll want to kill it like the 'bacteria' they think is bad but actually the basis of life and diversity. They will spray it in a second like a bug.

Even of the GREAT inventors have had such hardship from backwards thinking let alone Capitalism (or whatever)... even from those people they could have used and abused earlier (for money) but they condemn these types unless they can be used for profit... Dickens or Van Gogh or whoever people wouldn't even be able to sell their books for lowest currency or for free, they would get burnt or witch-hunts (modern day equivalent still is very much the same)..

And just put people in jail earlier than listening to them. Not even logic there.

If people like that don't give money to the greats... abuse them even... and throw people away. What consideration do you have for that?

IF ANYTHING STARTS WORKING. YOU WILL GET SHUT DOWN. It's not fear talking. You might have never got something going before to have the experience - something that is caring is magnet for being shut down and naive people wonder why on earth they would bulldozer the place or charge public to not improve it. Essentially it keeps the power and scarcity. And give them something bad to do with tax you give them...

Think about as another (again not a great word or triggers people) but interest to take it over is tangible, one day bad and full of 'hackers' and voodoo and now on your high street once locked and sterilised by them.

inventors trying to make free energy, hemp rope, have to deal with existing patents, law, and well it's just stuff!

So my advice we give them ideas if anything... UNLESS your idea can deal with the FLACK at the same time as changing and even not announce it like these twitter people serving to show the trend and wonder why they are cut off at the road ahead to change - the system can see / hear / predict it (system also means those behind it raking / scraping in all the trends).

Anyway I appreciate writing a lot but chances are you might not be interested.

It's not just a theory thing but like a tug of to the existing AND they don't play logic... (again even without fear it's worse than talking to monkeys).

You can't argue for fairness, pity, they don't work like that but in and relate to their paychecks even lower down the level like you and I.

Imagine those backwards people in offices to change.,, the way your mum thinks... patriarchy your and way you dad doesn't allow "free" or "Italian / Russian" way if masculine domination (or any stereotype), the "perfectionist / maximization / efficiency of 'German' types (again sorry but for short)... all the cultures have it (some more than others though now we're mixing)

Or new generation, really fancy and in their bourgeois comforts - never going to let go.

People will keep things THEIR WORLD in line and even shoot themselves in the foot to keep the norm going.

➡️ The more we do the the title of this post, the more we increment it (us), the more we find another way. learn to respect others etc...

➡️ I don't imagine a perfect society or need it immediately, but a society that can accept imperfection more often is more than enough to increment and ourselves.

Imperfection would be part of being born imperfect or naturally needing to learn (all of us). We can accept we can't learn it all once from birth or even 100%, as adult and move on nicely with positive.

More often we could focus and give time with others like us, like we did and occasionally enjoyed in school (hence the name FreeSchool) but with a better more modern update-and-learn flexible thinking as we go.

➡️ Some people will say 'don't call me X, call me Y' or "I call it X or Y' but as long as it's approx on then OK, just roll with it.

Online can be like that as we don't need to be big blocks towards unattainable perfection with so much other stuff to get on with.

➡️ This is all done as a project or as individuals who have enough direction and taste for it, it would be as a 'just trust me for a bit' template but also if you agree these basic things and direction while being flexible... a bit of hand-holding for human

➡️ A bit of risk but improving measurement and crowd testimony / social online helps it avoid it being a scam. Peopel have to show themselves a bit / adapt a bit / invest in people in accepting the new and different peoples (everyone). Might be hard to say and do but constantly we will understand people are individual and individualism hopefully can be attained rather than perfection.

➡️ When 'everyone is doing the learning' or a few - then we can see the benefits of being accepted, being semi-transparency - and even desperate for freedom (again while not sacrificing it too readily).

➡️ We should be desperate or motivated enough seeing the external re-occurring and repeated by leaders - this we can see and use to come out of ourselves so we're not just hating leaders and even feeding them.

🔴 TLDR - We just lead our own lives more and feed that. Getting past our cringe we find our own treasure to share and even others to help clear up.

➡️ Even on the Fediverse, in a small way, is enough exposure of ourselves (which many already do in in the right measured way) while expressing more to show we are not bad actors when we can constantly respond / help see why / present ourselves better. I know my profile isn't perfect but either way

➡️ Fear is why keeps us in too, while can be according to what people prefer I think we need all levels from saying totally nothing and not getting far with anyone, to totally sharing your personal details and being a famous Twitcher - all can be used if we measure ourselves accordingly and truthfully put ourself in places we're comfortable with and help feed those outside our circle, saying yes and no to things helps that but can be compatible with slightly less compatible if aims are similar (to learning or less-hate for example).

➡️ I think 'perfection' is what people have got used to (consciously and unconsciously) from being presented perfection for modern capitalistic things - but largely it doesn't exist, it's just an exchange or transfer with various others in between, so a bit of unlearning is there (learning what the exchanges are to morally weigh it better for ourself) towards more sustainability or less polluting ways that shoot the self in foot by using it or could be minimised.

➡️ Eventually people have FAQ-like answer pages or posts for so the next person who ask "why this?" - just have it as linkable thing and part of talking as a cycle which is in itself a big step and leap in advancing humans things...

and then later if people really like each other can do more but should come naturally from giving 'wasted' time to really see how ace everyone is or can be.

➡️ A sample of ourselves helps others see but often needs others asking and demand for it! Often MANY things are not represented on Fediverse because it's just "this is my job' and few hashtags as a few lines of description so people could do more to see each others pictures / posts and also give and for others to do something about any opinion if it holds weight !).

➡️ Users / humans have always been the weak point. Capitalism (including ignorance by users / people) have had these 'dirty' methods increasingly work underneath everything - This got us perfect computers (much of Tech included) and so we got used to it being presented as perfect end product that 'works' but kind of doesn't in many other ways as humans are put aside. So when I was complained to any admin about their 2GB video files for largely nothing and multiples copies - well that shows the contrast that all of us are born in luxury or hypocrisy or bourgeoise with bloat... so I realised all of us have this at various levels - not seeing the metals and rejecting it all but sloing it down so huge operations to get it to us also slow down... cloud data is less used, moving from Gmail while having along side another email for years and then moving over... we think things work perfectly and on time - but need to realise it all isn't and actually less use it almost of high need or high existence.

Imagine "2 at a time" method

So it's me and you and then the next 2 persons brave enough to do the small-scale which eventually makes a big scale BUT without trying to jump there using tech, this uses people.

A kind of Tetris of human pieces that helps us find a way to fit to each other and then see others are trustable more often (from the practice itself) and from social online seeing past efforts and past writing or just able to ask now spontaneously.

With others we can do it - without not!
(while not needing to go all-in either way or trust totally first time).

🔴 TLDR = Time and expression helps it all. And opposite is tre also.

We then build according to our interests and listening to others, exploring their multi-dimensional existence (E,g, I'm not just one thing as Capitalsm wants to see me as for it's best profit and ignores / devalues the rest - I'm pretty magic / infinitely persistent and dogged in my own niche).

We weave it all with the principles and reasoning and keep each other in mind to give what we can and take what we want / like - in order for some ping pong or volleyball without middle people who don't care...

➡️ The only tech we need is Mastodon, and some privacy voice apps maybe for voice message later (, can send text, voice messages as 1-touch button and send but Fediverse for now)

Something like vocaroo.com/ later can help human audio practice adn perfect expression and give human feedback (instead of just long text - just 1 website to record and send link to privately without bigtech!). We can create our own Vocaroo too as I think it still has some basic website stuff that could be reduced.

➡️ ZeroTrace does not work with "older" browser like which is really just simpler / safe browser in some way and anyway bad for older or simpler users

- People are also making their own browser too btw like @alcinnz - so helps help make it )...

➡️ Don't want to say it but the "new" browsers are too full of "IT" - meaning extra problems / "clever" stuff added / stuff we can't see. Good not to jump in bed with them... at all sometimes.

Basic tech is so important so something even 10years back should work in some form towards that (and not blame 'it's insecure without SOME reasoning) and not force people on Firefox 999 from that laziness

(It's :firefox: 100+ already now for and we saw how amazing less it was right from 50-70, so it is crazy and not just fear etc. It's evident whose behind a lot of all of it...

With more to come I'm sure as a regular cutting off / culling / disabling of sites as condition to using other 'secure' sites they like to validate.

As as possible = inclusive / working long-term (am I wrong?)

As close to (---ish) tech
(OK OK not saying HTML but seriously closer to that) so all this can at least have fall-back when the time comes and back to basic ways instead of nothing like have)... Real war is coming (and that means regression too).

EXACTLY Gergovie - I was thinking the same: Another Tesla sale if they bought it in the first place and didn't want to take the train every morning and back etc.

How stupid and bad anarchy gives itself a name when it's more senseless in thinking burning things is going to solve what is an everyday user's own problem (user is the weak point in all this also).

So you just increased sales by burning your neighbours Tesla
AND made a big scene
AND give Anarchy a bad name (if it's the flavour aimed based on principles and self-organising for something better?).
AND by making fires :nes_fire: they just put more cameras and do more of the same. You give them excuse.

Easy for them spending more of camera, and 💯% made worse by you (unless you have REALLY better idea AFTER Tesla is burned).

I'm talking here - not bugs to squish or eliminate (which also I wouldn't do).

Humans features, as if diversity were an imperfection, is not the right perspective and only goes towards .

I 💯% accept there are lines (without sounding about it) as I know for example who 80% I vouch for maybe as really loving humans (having my ideal things more than 0 in standard people) but the 20% at the end of the night is a *fucking nightmare* and I accept they would need punching out or even death if they continued for long time.

Sharing land with that friend would be tough with alcohol they professionally abuse.

But for many it's not like that and a workable 🌐 maybe... !

No idea what to do about - can be really deep and forever time-consuming and even then only minimises what simply stays in people... *sigh*

ABOUT THE WAR NOW...

Any army ( / / etc) or it's leaders etc are not killing because of the anyway - it's for the oil on the land 💲=🛢️ ⛽ 🚗=💲 so as far as I can imagine as 'business as usual' it's the monetary power/energy/etc reasons here as usually strategy.

I'd go further: Tech "solutions" only exceptionally are really solving anything. In most cases they are only incentive for new capital accumulation ("investment opportunities") to generate more profits, entailing more exploitation and environmental destruction.

I can see there is a distinction and I thank you for separating things - it's needed to say what it includes or doesn't exclude - but it's also basic from what we see Capitalism stripping or what / machines cut out can't actively encouraging much - which is actual mutual human help and friendship without it having to be too desperate or a transaction either.

➡️ Humanity as social and adding more human time-slices back into what basic social machine helps us send basic email type message. Instead of machine/busine$$ ways to get stuff done, costing us all more and more, and sometimes crap and full of regret at the end anyway!

➡️ People have been stuck doing the same limited stuff and at the same time wonder (occasionally) how it got to this... basically by not participating or trying with people because it's not standardised !

➡️ If people are being used like batteries (for their body) or only towards 1-dimersional ways then it's really obvious to face each other one by one until more things match... Just to be used as tools like machines working for our leaders is 💯% not the way - and "of course" all this *narrow* mindedness comes from us inside what funnels it back to them as or human - effectively they are losing our humanity for us and filtering it out into their pockets charging transaction fees AND not aiming to put it in anywhere else like the arts, let alone humanity etc

Another example:

➡️ Online RIGHT NOW there are people on (etc) hammering the hashtags...
1000's spending hrs in thread or rabbit holes (it seems) and then not having much at the end to show for it, not doing anything productive as even (unless you count throwing stones as a friendship in war temporarily and then walking away when that leader is dead and a new one replaced them).

So they waste their precious time after the cathartic and therapeutic effects of a few stones and go back for more like a drug as a emotional output (leaders even feed off it, loving it to scrape even-worse ideas from their fear posts and fear signals!).

and mis-spending time...

The "I don't have time" response is really the "I'm spending almost all my time wasting time like this so I no I'm not working to improve my skill and time on this or with others do something else than pick up the next stone and feel good in that way.."

always needed mediating I guess but 'state' or 'system' to get people together isn't it ! Real justice can be done just between us getting better at it - communication, meanings, words, merging etc.

As a example we see how it works with Tinder and even the extreme taboo things like sex so quickly- so why can't we make some normal fucking friendship here LOL!
People don't even reply so we need to fix that. Daily I used to get emails from people replying asking why I contacted them from their contact page which was asking people to contact them if interested!

And can we do this 'sex' without another app?!! OK Mastodon has that covered too! Let's get chatting!

So little is needed / we have it already to practise a bit of ourselves and show others - ok maybe we need an account for that - and help people get off the hashtage and redirect emotions into our own work as a better circle / cycle at the same time and help others who are doing the same or at least wanting to (becomes weaving after a while and strong of people <--- imagine wifi mesh which is popular now but as people mesh!).

To standardised humanity obviously doesn't work and shouldn't expect it with dire fall out (and like going towards !) so to do humanity which isn't 1 standard or one individual archetype / template is hard - but when accepted simply works as the next weirdo / stranger to increment friendship (not even all it). It's so safe from far away it's ridiculous and feedback can be left with reasoning or just open talk for peer-review.

Incrementing a better expression and alignment *while accepting initial imperfect* is the key to better Federation and people not falling apart at the first sentence and bickering, like twitter.
