@trinsec

I never heard of the Big Friendly Giant film before. Maybe it's a UK thing or maybe I'm just too old.

Yeah, I know what BBC is, but just for fun...

BBC = Billionaire Boys Club

Congratulations to the crew of Blue Origin's NS-19 flight for a successful flight into space.

The December 11, 2021 flight took 10 minutes and 13 seconds from blastoff to touchdown.

The crew included Michael Strahan, Evan Dick, Laura Shepard Churchley, Dylan Taylor, Cameron Bess, and Lane Bess.

Progress in human space flight fell off a cliff after the Apollo missions.

The accomplishments of the Apollo program are even more amazing when you consider that we went to the moon while simultaneously fighting a major overseas proxy war against the Chinese and fighting among ourselves here in the US over civil rights, women's liberation, and many other things.

Then Nixon resigned, while the country fell into massive crime and corruption and advancement in human spaceflight stalled.

It may be 66 years before we even return to moon again.

If you want to understand how much of a failure that is, watch 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the 60s, that's where people genuinely thought we'd be by the year 2001 -- 20 years ago. Instead we've been stuck in low-Earth orbit for 50+ years.

The solution depends on whether or not the partridges know how to play the drums.

@RezaHoss

That should be "sources.list"

Also:

man sources.list

for a detailed reference.

They probably lie less than the average Joe. When a scientist is discovered to have produced crappy science, it costs them future opportunities at being published and ultimately their career.

When an average Joe lies, their friends call them names and then buy another round of drinks and move on.

>"don't have the case number on hand. they paid damages though."

I see. A jury of their peers said so.

That's what they mean by "peer reviewed " -- 12 randomly selected people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.

There are all kinds of places you can buy an electric. Here is a list of 99 current models of electric cars:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_

You can also find sources for used electric cars on cars.com or craigslist.org, (in the US).

Here's a list of 67 electric car models that are no longer in production:

In developed countries, we have the tools needed to avoid dying from COVID-19 -- respirators, vaccines, testing. Unless someone is a child or is in an institution of some sort, at this point if they get COVID-19, it's because they chose to be exposed to the risk. So...

Should (most) COVID-19 deaths be recorded as "suicide" on the death certificate?

@soundwave

In democracies with strong freedom-of-speech rights, we already have that right. We can "demand" that people prove it, but they also have free-speech rights, so they can chose not to prove it if they want. Then we have the right to take what they say with a grain of salt.

@lupyuen

It's a great technical reference, but I question the narrative. It's very violent for a contemporary cartoon, I would not recommend it for children. I also question the title with regard to race.

Other projects from the same producer have issues with violence, also.

@tripu @Hyolobrika

Lest we forget.

A huge minority of Americans apparently didn't know their history when they supported the previous president. His political playbook was essentially Mein Kampf -- he just changed "Jews" to "Muslims" and changed "Poles" to "Mexicans".

@lupyuen

Another possible explanation is that the antennae are used to collect IR more efficiently to help keep warm, but the differentiated neurons associated with those hairs would indicate a sensor function. It's should be easy enough to confirm or refute with behavioral studies.

"Primitive Conflicts, Crude Weapons, Petty Bickering over borders, and nuclear balance of terror which precludes any potential for victory,"

@freemo @OmegaVariant @eclectic@venera.social @trinsec

Oh, you're referring to exaggerated behavior, not exaggerated rhetoric. Yeah, that's very bad.

I was once attacked in a store by a guy not wearing a mask when I tried to tell him to keep his distance.

I'm not accusing anybody of being a bot, but reread the comments -- they could apply to any response given to the original toot. Maybe there is some way to automate a turing test or something. I don't like CAPTCHAs. I tried to engage someone before who I thought was bot with disastrous results.

Is there already some kind of online etiquette for doing this?
