Just some info for aspiring scientists.. If you have papers you've written of a scientific nature but are either not suited for a scientific journal or you simply dont want to go through the rigour, you can still get a DOI for your publication and associate it with your ORCID. which is good if your trying to build up your reputation and improve the catalog associated with your ORCID.
Check out https://zenodo.org/, anyone can get an account in a few minutes and then your all set to upload your documents which will immediately be assigned a DOI. Though of course the submissions are reviewed and if they arent of a scientific nature may be taken down.
I just tried it out by uploaded an old paper I wrote that was basically a one page how-to on doing rotations in an arbitrary number of dimensions. You can check it out here at my shiny new DOI:
Part of me wants to reconstruct all of math up to calculus from scratch and document it all and then create a knowledge map so someone can see how any advanced idea is derrived from the most elementary ideas.
Partly I want to do this for myself just because I have a hard time remembering some derrivations, particularly in calculus where you have to go back to limits to show it.

For this weeks #FollowFriday I am going to do a groups addition.

So its been about a month since the QOTO Moderated Groups Server came online at groups.qoto.org. It adds group capability to the fediverse with an owner capable of moderating membership in the group unlike previous group servers which were completely unmoderated and open.
We have had some amazing groups form and overall the server seems to be the most popular on the fediverse, I’m seeing more activity than the open-group servers which is great!
As such I wanted to share a list of a few groups I know of so far in case anyone is looking for a group to follow. Just follow the group as you would a user and you will be in the group and receive group posts in your timeline!

Finally understood why does a 2-port measurement on a network analyzer can reliably find the impedance of a Power Distribution Network. The RF impedance between power and ground is nearly zero on a PCB with many capacitors, diverting 99% current coming out from port 1 to ground, meanwhile port 2 is in parallel, but its 50 ฮฉ input impedance is large and gets almost no current, no voltage drop. Like Kelvin sensing but instead of 1 Mฮฉ, 50 ฮฉ is large enough. And since port 2 receives almost no power, S21 goes to zero and impedance equation simplifies to a straight line Z = 25 ฮฉ x S21, really neat. #electronics

Some people say the 500W light I use as a desk lamp is a bit excessive...well I say... who is that? Who said that? I cant see you I just looked at the light when i turned it on momentarily and now I'm blinded!
