@marathon Huh, that does look interesting. I might take a peek at it for my mother.
@ghostdancer

@marathon Ah! That'd explain the slightly blurry quality and the weird fashion sense. 😋

Even though I had a BBS of my own, I never took the bother to become a full-fledged node of Fidonet, I just stayed as a point and joined the fun channels to chat on. Reason was that becoming a node did cost money.

I was a node on the local echomail network instead and got points (users) calling into my BBS to fetch mail for that network. :)
We don't have flatrate, calling was expensive. Becoming a Fidonet node probably would've made my parents even more upset. 😅

I was so glad we finally got broadband in 2000, even though that basically was the death of the BBSes. I still kinda miss the local echomail networks. They were a lot smaller and you kinda knew who was who.

@mur2501 I'm suspecting their actions speak louder than their words. ;)

@mur2501 Start a restaurant and name it Delhi. Now you have two!

But Americans aren't very creative. ;)

*Eyes outside* I sincerely hope the neighbour just wanted to drain that flower pot, and isn't actually watering his garden in the rain. 😋

@mur2501 Sure, why not. There is even a place in USA named Holland.

@westofer@mstdn.social Lol. Or someone who actually respects the GDPR. ;)
@mur2501

@mur2501 Sorta. Not a commercial/professional one, though my designs are used as such at my job. The advantage of me being deaf and autistic is that my visual creations are... pretty much spot on for the purposes. I guess I'm saving my job a shitton of money while aiding with the decoration and adding to the atmosphere of the place. 😅

Oh jeez. I had to fire up Paint.net and redownload some plugins to be able to work on some ancient graphics stuff I did some 6 years ago.

I simplified those images and hope I can convert them to vector images now without making my poor software cry because of way too much detail.
It's not a ram issue, it's not a cpu issue. It's simply way too much. :P

Paint.net felt like home, though. No wonder, I had worked in it for over 10 years before I switched to Affinity software. With the right plugins (and there are a lot!) you really can do a lot of cool stuff with it.

@Barbara You might as well unfollow me, corona is not a hoax.

@marathon Aw bummer, no subtitles. I was a point member in the Fidonet network in the 90's. It was my first touch with the big world before internet arrived. :)

Never used it as much as the local echomail network of my area though, that one was fun!

@chrism Woot! Something I said actually made sense! :D

@mur2501 Huntsman spiders? Omfg, that's a bigger nope from me! Can't they grow pretty big?!

Look, if there is /one/ spider in the corner of my ceiling, sure thing. No problem. Stay there and I won't have to swat it or shove it to outside.

BUT THAT IS NOT JUST ONE small SPIDER! THAT IS A FUCKING INVASION!

@danslerush I remember that it was a true revolution in playerland. No more searching the right codecs to play the stupid movie already!
