I don't watch old media that much anymore. But you can just follow the money; who is buttering their bread. Usually its their advertisers, or potential advertisers. Or anyone who has a lot of money that might be thrown their way.

It has nothing to do national loyalty, commitment to democracy, human rights, anything like that. Its the money.

If the problem is the word "fruit" in place of "bananas", then it could be described as a lack of concreteness (or concretion) or specificity. (Concreteness is the actual quality of being concrete, while concretion is the act of concreting or making more concrete.)

If the problem is due to the redundancy of the two words "apple" and "fruit", then it could be referred to as "categorically tautological", "taxonomically tautological", or "hierarchically tautological".

Each of those words have several meanings, most of which are not really related to each other. However, there is a common meaning for at least one sense of each of those words around the concept of "occurrence" -- something that happens.

In the case of "event", it can mean very generally anything that happens, but often it means a social gathering, something that happens with people at a specific time or place.

In the case of "activity" it can mean something that does some process, usually implying an active process driven by some impetus. It can also mean a planned event where people are active participants, often a hands-on educational event.

Examples:
Many people attended the social event because it was well promoted.

Our digestive systems carry on their activities usually without our notice.

The children made clay figures during the art activity.

As I said, there are also many other meanings for each of those words which don't fit any of the definitions above.

(It's odd how 35-year-old microwave ovens still work perfectly, while the "improved" designs can't hold a vacuum for more than a couple of years.)

The Russian invasion of Crimea in 2014 was a violation of the Budapest Memorandum, so that agreement was dissolved at that point and no longer in effect. This means that, from that point forward, any country could supply Ukraine with any weapon system whatsoever, up to and including nuclear weapons.

This also means that any country, at any point in time, can simply paint a Ukrainian flag on any of their weapon systems and transfer ownership to Ukraine, and as long as a Ukrainian citizen pushes the button, it's completely legit.

Western countries have already stated that they will support Ukraine with lethal weapons in their fight against Russia. These countries possess weapon systems that can easily penetrate Russian defenses.

If you haven't seen the video, now I understand why we're in different places on this. He posted three toots, as I remember, replying to his own original toot, so that each one appeared in the local timeline. The last one (which is the first that someone sees as they read the timeline, was that horrible video, without much (or any) context, as I remember. And, as I said, he used the word as a tag.

In any case, we've got an asshole disrupting this conversation, so...
