I saw your post in passing. https://skeptoid.com/episodes/4419 suggests the same thing, and you may find it useful. The transcript page has further reading and references at the bottom.
@kim I decided not to proselytize on Twitter for Mastodon. I don't care for the "Don't give content to that fascist platform" song and dance either. I'm already finding where antifa types are acting like the thugs they claim they are fighting against.
If you set your expectations of humanity low enough, you'll still be disappointed but rarely surprised.
I help where it appears appropriate. I comment as I see fit. I post new stuff here. It's generally more comfortable and friendly. It appears less likely my random brain droppings will be subject to abuse from MAGA, flerthers, Libertarians, hard core "so far left they are coming back from the right" antifa.
So... it's nice here. I just don't see Mastodon offers much to make a religion of it.
Nothing wrong with preferring it here and saying why, but some people just have to preen and it’s annoying
I have yet to write a bio, but should let the fediverse know I am right-side disabled from a stroke, a gay man, a retired Navy Chief who spent four years in the Army in the 60s. I’ve been living in Japan since the mid 70s. My languages are English, Latin, German, French, Czech, Russian, and Japanese with smatterings of Turkish and Spanish.🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
The issue with the list is that it clearly suppresses evidence that is not in line with the operators opinions, effectively lying by ommitting relevant context to distort the truth.
See my list on the talk page.. Despitte being respectful and showing a mountain of evidence to disprove the evidence claimed for QOTO on the block list none of this evidence was actually added (in fact in response they added another entry claiming I harassed her). Instead despite the polite mention I was blocked.

This isnt a case of "admins make up your own mind".. this is a case of explicitly lieing, presenting on the cherry picked out of context evidence to support your agenda and suppressing all evidence that disproves the claim int he block.
Is that really a block list you want to support? I mean come on the majority of instances on the list dont even bother providing evidence.
It's that time of year again. Make sure to use inclusive language and only mention your yule tree, Santa, and xmas.
Thankyou. I will update the document with the new wording... I will add you as a contributor since this is coming from you, thanks.
Yeah, sure, @freemo messes up sometimes. Because he actually DOES THINGS.
He also seeks constructive criticism and corrects course. More than once a day in public.
You can be comfortable, or you can be a change agent.
Good heavens! That section of the talk page certainly makes it clear now the kind of thing that's going on. It really is just a Paula Don't Like You List, which is a fine thing for Paula to have, but it distresses me that it's being advertised as some kind of centralized list that people can use.
Even though it says that everyone using it should check every item, people are lazy, and some aren't going to do that.
The point that no mod should be that lazy is well taken, so maybe any such servers are no great loss anyway, but I feel sorry for their users.
One of the things I've tentatively concluded in my journey from teenage libertarianism to old-guy leftism, is that being nice to shitty people is in some cases a bad idea. :)
But regardless, as Jon says, preventing all of one's users from seeing qoto, not because of anything actually on the server, but in order to indirectly pressure its mod to behave differently, seems to be a pretty weird set of priorities to me.
Apparently being, even to shitty people, is a dog whistle, but only when those shitty people arent you :)
@freemo @toxomat @shelenn @ceoln the latest comment reads to me as.... Despite proof Yay all stated concerns are resolved, there's still problems and if you don't know, I'm not going to tell you.
Hardly treating others well with that kind of attitude. Feels less like a vetted list and more like.. the Paula Don't Like You list. 🤣
Treating others well is one thing I think #qoto is known for. Sad that the idea isn't shared more widely.
@shelenn
Seriously? Not your fault, I know, but #qoto does NOT have "no moderation"; this is a complete myth. qoto is as moderated as any server. It's not some kind of "free speech" absolutist nuthouse.
What qoto doesn't have (in most cases) is #defederation, and the reasons for that are nicely spelled out here: https://qoto.org/@freemo/109319817943835261
I'm on qoto, and as far as I can tell the fact that it's been defederated by some other servers has no impact whatever: I see lots and lots of people, and lots and lots of people obviously see me.
I really don't get it.k
@tatzelbrumm @ufoi
I was thinking more along the lines of "mottos in general," referencing the Ghostbusters quote. I wasn't thinking of UFoI. :)
But when I think of mottos in general, this one does come to my mind.

Welp ... that's what Elon Musk is trying at twitter.
Time will tell how well that plays out, but in the meantime, we're trying to do things differently in the Fediverse, if I understand correctly what y'all are trying to do.
