I think this is literally the most obvious statement anyone has ever made...

@freemo Well, of course there's a lot to say in response to your comment, but I guess it wouldn't add much to what we all know anyway.

But I just had an interesting thought. The guy actually lives in the house where his office is too, right? So technically he does not need to commute - at least not too far. Nevertheless, before becoming POTUS, Biden was known to start each day on his Peloton bike (the news of what security risks this poses is also fun: theguardian.com/us-news/2021/j). So assuming they sorted the security out and allowed him to ride his stationary Peloton device, does that now count for a commute (of 0m, but still strictly technically it "gets" him there)? If so, we should credit him for getting on par with Mark Rutte when it comes to commuting on a bike 😄 .

As much as I love my Fluke 289, and all the Fluke accessories they are wayyyyy too expensive. I just cant justify a clamp on amp probe (just the probe no multimeter) that costs 250$, thats more than most multimeters....

If anyone's wondering why nazism happened, all they have to do is watch Fritz Lang's _Die Nibelungen_.

Just to make myself clear, it's not a political movie or anything, but if that's how Germans saw themselves and others, it really explains everything.

I want to go to scotland so when people tell me "I am scottish born and raised" I can reply "You cant be, there are no true scotsman!"

Yea I am kinda a nerd...

BTW side note I forgot to add to this thread for all the fluoride conspiracy theorists. Don't forget to stop drinking all coffee and tea, both of which have higher concentrations of fluoride than fluoride doped public water.

That is all.

:: tens of thousands of people die of covid everyday::

COVID conspiracy theorists: Bah the numbers are made up, they just report anyone who dies for any reason as a covid death. Fake news!

:: one person who already had severe allergies and a heart condition dies from the COVID vaccine::

Also COVID conspiracy theorists: OMG see the vaccine is deadly an more dangerous than the virus, it is a legit threat and has a microchip in it!

I'm pretty sure the only ingredient in thai coffee is caffeine.. holy hell I couldnt even finish one cup. Good though, plus now I can literally see into the future!

@freemo make it easy to see the credentials and papers of the groups that approve the article.

I'm not even a vegan and I must admit, impossible burgers are good as hell... First time I ever had a vegan burger that actually legitly tasted like a burger.

Back when game developers actually had to make sure their games worked without major bugs on the **first** release...

Myspace in was the Google of social media. Now it's been reduced to yahoo.

Funny enough, yahoo was to the top dog iirc.

Ah yes, the times of AOL online provided via free CDs, dialup modems being the norm, the advent of AIM and ICQ messengers, children's cartoons that would not pass today's censors, and every hacker was either on a message board or irc channel...

All this right after the fall of the Berlin wall and the Chernobyl incident.

@ademan
I feel sorry for Ya, the 90s was so much better. We all just chilled around camp fires listening to Bill Clinton play jazz on his saxophone as he handed out free myspace stocks to everyone, which was the national currency at the time.

@freemo @ademan tipper gore was saving us from rap music; truely an angel walking in our midst ❤❤

Animals are smart as fuck... just imagine the level of understanding it takes to know these snares are dangerous, how to dismantle it, and to actually know there are more than one so as to look for them. Not to mention to warn other ape when they get too close to a live trap... these animals are way smarter than most people realize.

Rhode & schwartz test equipment is officially my favorite brand... I have one of their oscopes, I wish i needed a new spectrum analyzer though, would love one of those from them!

@zleap @freemo @mur2501 Nope. So, Arm is to RISCV like amd is to Intel (in a way, not in everything). Meaning, Arm has their own ISA (instruction set architecture) of which the most famous is probably the A64 (arm64). Meanwhile, RISC-V aims to be a license free ISA so companies don't have to pay for example.

Another important concept here that is often misunderstood is the difference between an ISA and it's underlying implementation. Meaning, I could have an operation defined as `ADD x y` in Armv8-A (64bit arm ISA) but there are many ways that this function could be implemented in actual hardware. Typically, manufacturers like ST Microelectronics will license both Arm's ISA as well as their internal designs to make a real hardware chip that has implemented the design. However, manufacturer are often free to deviate in their implementations from the "official" Arm one. As long as it still implements all the ISA it can be called "an Arm-based chip/ microcontroller".

In general, if this is the part of electronics you're interested in. Just learn vhdl/verilog.

I am really craving some sort of pasta for dinner...
