Interesting thing about boolean in most languages is that it is often a trinary/tri-state variable, not a dual state true or false variable, reason being you often have nil/null you can set a boolean too as well and in many languages, particularly those where all variables are by reference, you cant change this.

Ruby is particularly interesting because it makes a distinct separation between a variable being not-set and null/nil. Therefore a boolean in Ruby is a quad-state variable that can be either not-set, nil/nill, true, or false.

NOTE: My comment about Ruby is actually misleading since its a dynamic language. If you have a variable intending to act like a boolean, strictly speaking, before you set it with a boolean variable it doesnt have a boolean type. So the boolean **type** is not quad-value. Its just any variable that the variable you intend to use exclusively for boolean can have any of 4 states, and likely does in most implementations.

“A Cherokee elder was teaching his young grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego.
The other is good- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
This same fight is going on inside you—and inside every other person, too."
The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"
The elder simply replied,
"The one you feed.”

@mc @freemo xkcd.com/419/ But replace spoons and forks, with plates and boards.

Be warned, you're meddling with smorgas-forces you barely comprehend.

Since William Shakespeare lived in the past technically we should be refering to him in the past tense. Therefore the proper way to say his name would be "Wouldiwas Shookspeare"

I need a transplant because I have aggressive IgA nephropathy, a relatively rare autoimmune disorder where the antibody Immunoglobin A, produced by my intestines and bone marrow, collects excessively in my kidneys and destroys their ability to filter waste out of my system. I first found out about this in June of last year, and I've been on hemodialysis ("vampire time") ever since. A transplant will allow me to stop dialysis and live more or less normally.

Why are smorgas' always served on boards. I feel like we are severely limiting our smorgas possibilities.

The case precedent chain goes something like this:

-Congress can regulate interstate commerce
-Therefore congress can regulate anything that those businesses do
-therefore Congress can regulate anybody who competes with anybody who does interstate commerce
-therefore congress can regulate anything that anybody does, because they could have hired someone to do it who might be from another state
-therefore congress can tell people what medical procedures they must undergo because only congress knows how to keep your employees from spreading
COVID19 to other employees
- and by the way, congress can assign their power over to the executive branch

My favorite quote from the film:

"In their minds it's threatening the game. Really, what it's threatening is their livelihood, their jobs. It's threatening the way that they do things.... Anybody who is not tearing their team down right now and rebuilding it using your model, they're dinosaurs."
