I can't help but laugh at reading this sentence. It's so weird when taken out of context.

Even when you know the context it's still weird. 😂

@mrxmrt Agreed, I like a lot. It's also a nice form of acknowledging.

@szescstopni Damn, that's evil. Good thing you removed them. Can such an incident be reported?

@szescstopni Uh oh.

Well, I can say a murderous needle of my tree did go through my sole. That metal spike seems a bit too blunt to easily go through a sole?

@ElizabethLeeCo@horrorhub.club Oh I don't blame him either. I blame none of the admin. It's just that I feel defederation/suspend is a bit a last resort action that's having a big impact on all users on all sides.

Try silencing first and see if that helps for there I'd suggest.

@szescstopni So, what's the thing you felt under your shoe on this road? You didn't get into details there!

@ElizabethLeeCo@horrorhub.club The additional benefit of a silenced server is that users who already follow people from a silenced server can still communicate with them.

@ElizabethLeeCo@horrorhub.club Servers can silence whole servers too, you don't need to immediately defederate/suspend though?

For example, Qoto has silenced mastodon.social now, so the spam will be less for us now. Once mastodon.social has control over the spammers again, we can unsilence them and our users aren't affected by unfollowing because of suspend/defederation.

@ElizabethLeeCo@horrorhub.club Yup. I mean, for those instances who plan to defederate, wouldn't they be better off just silencing first? The crypto spammers should then not have access to accounts outside their instance bubble?

@ElizabethLeeCo@horrorhub.club I mean for those who don't want to move.

@ElizabethLeeCo@horrorhub.club Wouldn't silencing be a better option in general? Then people won't lose the follower status.

@StroomAfwaarts *Imagegoogles* Ah, I think more the topping approach. We did quip about the willow thing too, 'knotwilgen', hehe.

Another mastodon.social spam attack is underway. They have been silenced yet again.

@freemo Noticed it as well. Guess them getting huge is drawing quite the wrong clientele now.

@StroomAfwaarts Kinda needs every year, otherwise my garden's full of thorny trees. But it did need bigger trimming this time. Next year we're going to 'kortwiek' it, so we can easier trim the top too.

@freemo The blood is indeed getting out of your hand!

Totally broken now. Day 2 of trimming the big shrubs and tree. Not 100% done yet but the bin is almost full, so that's for the coming days to top it up until pickup day.
Dad also came along with his chainsaw-on-a-stick to help me out with the high up branches.
The shrubbery and tree look better now. I also found out that the murderous tall needles on the tree are actually very capable of penetrating the soles of my boots. Ow.

@hvangalen Mijn sweet spot is gewoonlijk Bosch, da's niet te duur en toch goed genoeg.

@hvangalen Mijn pa zweert bij Makita. Geen idee of dat de Elton John-versie betreft. ;)
