@grobmeier You can search for instances which have a longer post limit? Some Mastodon servers are modified to have a bigger limit. But I also know that servers like ... I think Misskey or Calckey or Pleroma? have a bigger limit by default.

Ooh, it gets even better. So a class wants a laptop, but according to my administration they already have one. Turns out it was collecting dust on one of their shelves, they never bothered to check..

Of course, after more than 3 months of no contact with the network, those devices automatically get kicked out from the network. Now I can send this laptop off to the IT to please add this to the network again. :P

Keeping track of which laptop should be in which classroom is proving to be exceedingly difficult here. Even if it's labeled under the laptop in which class this laptop should be in, it'll still be in a completely wrong classroom!

Or! Get ready for this.. we get the laptop back on our desk with the post-it note on it: We found this in our classroom, oops!
But... the label is telling me that it SHOULD be in that classroom! Why do we get it back?!
And then they still want a laptop.

Help me to make sense out of this please! 😂

In preferences>Other, have you tried selecting only the languages you'd like to see? It doesn't eliminate foreign languages as the users posting would have to define them as such too, but it might decrease the amount of foreign languages you see?

@freemo @icedquinn I remember at least 3 decades ago, many deaf people want to hide they're deaf. They were ashamed to even use sign language in public. My generation or the one right before mine might be the first ones who are like 'eff it'. Still a bit ashamed for people looking our way but also recalcitrant like staring back and then smiling ridiculously and waving back so the hearies all just look away, embarassed themselves.

I think pride is either a misnomer.. or you need to see it at an individual level: You can be proud of who you are, just because you are yourself. No lying to yourself. If you're gay, fine, be proud of yourself! If you're deaf, fine, be proud of yourself! No need to be ashamed!
