Storm damage from storm .. Patio furniture upside down, and someone lost a corner of their roof which ended up in my garden.

And my fence's totally busted, but I was planning on replacing the whole of that this coming spring/summer anyway, I already knew the wood posts were rotten at the base. It's quite a miracle it's been up for this long.

Bigbug was a very, _very_ weird movie... I'm still not sure what to think of it. People stuck in a house with rogue AIs around. Also, who the hell has their house that much hermetically sealed?

But what that evil AI did to themselves is hilarious... not unexpected, but still hilarious. And utterly dumb. :P

Seriously, whoever designed Evoland 2's gameplay should win an award! (did they win one? I dunno, probably should look it up).

It's just brilliant how the gameplay changes during... gameplay!

Sure, there were a few genres I couldn't care less for (brawlers, streetfighters, metroidvania.. meh), thankfully I kind of could cheese it out, or even used a speedhack to halve the speed (I seriously don't like fast reflexy games, it's just impossible for me). But other than that, it's all tied in so nicely!

And I still like it that the graphics style changes when you travel in time. I just encountered a gameboy graphics era... that's _even further back_ in time! Hilarious!

Still playing it, I'm not sure I'm even halfway into this story... this game's a lot bigger than I thought! The story's getting a lot more convoluted with various side plots, I think I should start taking notes or something!

I like Evoland 2 a lot more than Evoland. I'm very much enjoying the storyline so far. Past, present, and future are shown very nicely in the graphics quality.

I'm usually not liking platformers in general that terribly much, but if it's got a good story and if it's very forgiving in the gameplay, then it's pretty nice.

Had a nice quick round in Khet 2.0 just then. Ultimately I had 2 ways to kill off my opponent's pharaoh... basically it was Khetmate for him. So what did he do? He turned his sphinx for a self-kill instead of giving me the satisfaction, lol. :D

I really like it when the limit break on my berserker makes him target the evil boss of the battle and just insta-downs him. ;)

A few days ago I changed my pronouns (in my profile) from having no preference to "Pat, Pat".

My understanding of pronouns in the English language is that they serve as a shortened version of a specific noun -- in the case of personal pronouns, a shortened version of a person's name.

Since my name is already so short, it makes sense to just not use the pronoun at all and just refer to me as "Pat".

It may sound weird in some cases, but I think it makes sense.

Gods damn, I really need to check better next time whether I already have enough toilet paper before buying new ones in a sale..

At this rate I'll be fully prepared for the next pandemic. :P

Just finished playing through The Spectrum Retreat. That story got pretty dark near the end. I'll have to do another playthrough someday for the other ending. Even though you start off in a hotel managed by robots, it's all about the puzzles in the secret areas.

It is very much an elaborate puzzle game where you swap colors with cubes so you can go through the appropriately colored forcefields. And later teleport to the appropriately colored teleporter receivers. And then later get dizzy because you can change gravity too and that is seriously disorienting (as if motion sickness wasn't bad enough..).

I just wish that the last level was divided up in smaller sections, because if you make a mistake you can't get out of you have to redo everything in that level and that's getting tedious if it's a huge level. :P

Anyway, glad I managed to finish it! Some puzzles were pretty tricky. The game sortakinda reminds me of Polarity and has a Portal vibe, except a lot more slower paced and it has a storyline.

There's also a game show called Lingo, from the Netherlands. youtu.be/rLUmER9dn9A

TIL there actually is a fulltime job as a mole catcher in my province. :D

Guh... email alert that a certain product is ->THIS ABSOLUTELY CHEAP PRICE<-. Ooh! Goes to site, registers, then... bah, price is corrected.

So that was the start of my morning. :(

For tomorrow, code orange is announced at the coasts due to storm Corrie. The rest of the country will be code yellow.

My province is half code green. My prediction of my city tomorrow: lolwhut? What storm are you even talking about?

Hmm... looks like I'm almost flipping the bird right there.

Either that or it's space invaders.

Bought foodstuffs to make a stamppot andijvie with sometime this week. 😋

Not liking Mediamarkt very much. I want to buy a new phone and saw that they offer that model. So I waited until their tax-free sale would come up, and of course now this phone can't be found anywhere.

Yeah, I can advertise sales like that too... :P

I'm starting to appreciate the online greeting card services. You can customize a nice birthday card from the comfort of your chair, and have the exact right message or pun put inside the card.

And the funny thing is that it's not more expensive than going to a store, search for the right card which hopefully has the exact funny message you wanted, and then still have to put stamps on them and then post them.

Physical birthday cards in stores are pretty expensive as well, I think online is actually cheaper.

Sigh, this video is totally relatable for me...

The Silent Dinner:

Especially the 'I'll tell you later' happens far too often, and of course they've all forgotten about the conversations by then.

My solution as a kid was to bring books to the table. 'You cannot read during dinner', fuck you, I'll read whenever I damn well please. I'm not playing dumb and getting bored to tears just for your sake. If needed be I'd smuggle one on my lap.

I also always asked to leave the table as soon as I was done eating. When thinking back now, I wonder if this is why I always eat my dinners so fast. The faster I finished eating, the sooner I could do fun stuff.

Watching some anime at the moment. Little Witch Academia is more hilarious than I expected, especially the episode with the dragons.

At first that one seems to be some standard fantasy tale of dragons versus witches, but it turned out to be totally different lol.

I actually like this, quite dry humor at the core there.

Decided on a boardgame and a heatpack as Xmas present from my job (we could choose from a long list of generally useless items... I chose the least useless ones. :P)

Winter's still going on, it's still chilly outside, so the heatpack will be of use.

The boardgame is De Zoektocht naar El Dorado (The Quest for El Dorado), so hopefully that's fun enough to play!
