@Romaq you could always just quote the post, add your notes in your post, then set it to DM. Since you are the only one tagged on you will see it... then bookmark that.

@Romaq qoto has a bookmark feature, thats probably your best bet

Every time I see 20+ users sign up in a matter of a few minutes I instantly think "What dumbass shit did Musk do now..."

@Romaq I agree, the irony is I agree with their general principle (which is pro-LGBTQ).. .but in practice they do more harm to that community than they help it, and toxic to boost.

@War_Kittens

We did federate with them when they existed, but it was at the explicit request of our LGBTQ community and for their safety, it is important to know why.

Many of the LGBTQ were monitoring accounts there for the purpose of warning their community of calls to violence and doxxing. Other options (like signing up directly on the server) for them would have put them at more risk so they were here with the purpose of safely monitoring while keeping their ip and other information private.

In fact the subscription feature we now have was specifically added to their server for their benefit, so they could follow those accounts without being identified as a follower, further protecting them.

It was discussed on multiple occasions if we could find some alternative and potentially block the servers but for many reasons discussed we decided it was best to keep federation. In the end being able to see bad-actors, and therefore be informed was a far better choice than being blind to their violence and crippling the victims in some vain attempt to spite the bad actors.

I really respect and appreciate your efforts. Takes a person of integrity to be the better man, even when it is deserved :)

Its either a lack of understanding or intentional misinformation. But its a common trope.

Basically many instances are under the false misconception that if they block a server, and a server they dontn block boosts content from it, then it can be seen by their server (or vice versa)...

The reality is that is false (we have tested it a few times and verified it is untrue)... you can only see a boosted post if you can see the original post. This is clear because boosting doesnt replicate the content, it just links it. Plus like i said we tested it.

@cain_rob

Once you configure it to start cross posting, and then close the window, it will cross post forever... I set mine up years ago and its still going and never stopped.

@lucifargundam

You may want to consider removing that post for your own personal interest... a LOT of people think that tool is unethical and they have been attacking/blockingn people who use it.
