@Perkon @lydiaconwell Very! I've got a LED headlamp in a beanie hat! It's so damn useful!

@lydiaconwell I've had a large encounter with Darkness today. Biked home in the dark (ok, there were lanterns but that's not that bright anyway!). I'm home safely now, by the way!

@freemo Does that basically mean you can stay underwater a lot longer than the average diver?

@freemo That's more tanks than I thought. They never show that in the movies.

@Pat Hehe yeah. I had posted something about this a year or so ago, it's pretty interesting. That gif animation is a very nice visual presentation of it!

I'm starting to appreciate the online greeting card services. You can customize a nice birthday card from the comfort of your chair, and have the exact right message or pun put inside the card.

And the funny thing is that it's not more expensive than going to a store, search for the right card which hopefully has the exact funny message you wanted, and then still have to put stamps on them and then post them.

Physical birthday cards in stores are pretty expensive as well, I think online is actually cheaper.

@Pat I wasn't diagnosed with asperger's until far into my 20's. But that's not that special because it's a high functioning form of autism which can be pretty good at disguising that one has autism. Heck, even I didn't know it until properly diagnosed.

It does however, in hindsight, explain some of my behavior as kid. Extremely stubborn and I had my own perception of reality.

I still have, heh.

@barefootstache Oh, that might work out then. Though chances of microplastics (due to wear and tear of walking/riding over it) will be bigger in that local area then. So, that's still air pollution increase. But eh, if there's no other way...

@freemo What's the deepest you can go in that general area?

@barefootstache Well, considering that concrete already existed far before the Roman times (but the Romans were the first one to use it a lot), and many of those buildings are still up.. I have the suspicion that concrete might be more durable.

But if they use the plastic based bricks for temporary buildings (as in.. max 10 years probably?) it might be indeed useful.

But knowing us humans, and always postponing maintenance and rebuildings.. I foresee accidents within a few decades. :P

Sigh, this video is totally relatable for me...

The Silent Dinner:

Especially the 'I'll tell you later' happens far too often, and of course they've all forgotten about the conversations by then.

My solution as a kid was to bring books to the table. 'You cannot read during dinner', fuck you, I'll read whenever I damn well please. I'm not playing dumb and getting bored to tears just for your sake. If needed be I'd smuggle one on my lap.

I also always asked to leave the table as soon as I was done eating. When thinking back now, I wonder if this is why I always eat my dinners so fast. The faster I finished eating, the sooner I could do fun stuff.

Watching some anime at the moment. Little Witch Academia is more hilarious than I expected, especially the episode with the dragons.

At first that one seems to be some standard fantasy tale of dragons versus witches, but it turned out to be totally different lol.

I actually like this, quite dry humor at the core there.

@barefootstache I wonder how durable they are. I mean, any plastic I know will become brittle when exposed to the elements for too long. I doubt they're going to last for centuries like stone does.

@freemo Ask one of the people there to translate it for you?

@JonathanMBR Sure, the rhino can be sad, but it's not necessarily weeping (as most animals cannot do that the way humans can). Hence why in the article you linked the "crying" was put between quotes.

Don't get me wrong, I think poaching is terrible and it should stop. I am just being kinda factual here, or maybe pedantic if you want to look at it like this. :P
