@vielbein I dunno, what specialized stuff would there have to be? We've got a list of nice extra features that you can see in the About page, some of which are useful for scientific articles.

And besides Qoto there are a few more science-oriented instances, so there are definitely some science servers around.

@vielbein You mean in the profile page? Add http:// or https:// in front of the address for it to be recognized as a link.

@vielbein Qoto is federated with many servers, yes. Anything you post publicly will be federated with them. If you check the Federated timeline, you can see posts from people from all over the Fediverse.

@vielbein Take your time, it's not a competition. You can always ask the community for info.

@waiterich Keep in mind that this is about default Mastodon. There are modified instances around.

I know the Mastodon Glitch edition can do quote-toots. Our server (not Glitch, but it is modified) can do this too, but we have a STEM orientation, so a quote-toot is actually very useful to us.

I've known a few servers which can do full-text searches.

I do get notified when people like my replies. I think this is also the case in default Mastodon? Or have they changed that?
