To expose Eiugen on yet another lie... here is a link to all the changes that occured to our ToC over the last 6 months. As can clearly be seen the only changes made were stronger protections for the LGBTQ and a removal of the phrase "free speech".

Which means the only perceived changes he could mean are either greater protections to LGBTQ groups or he is caving tto the misinformation spread by snow.

I already cover the emails (which were sent only to admins with email addresses that welcomed administrative contact). They servered the purpose of alerting them as to Snow's disinformation and an attempt to set the record straight.

Seems quite clear, even by Eugen's own admission that what I said in the above post is completely factual afterall.

@shuttersparks @freemo Back when I was a young adult, people were still struggling with how to address women, eventually dropping "Miss", but still even now retaining Mrs. to some extent, along with Ms. It was the case that you couldn't even address a woman about anything, without knowing whether or not they were sexually available.

It was also true that many of my older relatives were quite distressed by people with long hair who they couldn't categorize in some very casual encounter, like walking down the street. And why did that matter?

My hope is that as the "need" to continuously pigeonhole people by gender fades we'll have much less need for the use of pronouns.

Meanwhile I agree with Phil that this is currently a hot button issue. For example, in a group situation where we were all going around the room introducing ourselves using our pronouns, I was madly trying to make mental notes so as to participate correctly in the discussion to follow. Thus, when it was my turn, I suggested that perhaps for practical purposes, we could all just use "they'. Maybe that should be the new normal. This was not well received, and I am currently back to being a somewhat floundering participant in such situations.

For Dr. Freemo, I'd say that I took your description initially as somewhat silly. But silliness is dangerously close to mockery (I think it is nearly impossible to be a comedian these days). Also, if taken seriously, addressing someone else as "Sir" has serious overtones of privilege and supremacy. I'd just admit that you didn't recognize that some would take actual offense but you are learning.

And, let's face it. Current controversies have put you under a microscope these days. That's a consequence of taking an active role here at Mastodon. Supporting openness and individuality while not squelching the aspirations of others is a complicated thing. Essentially an impossible conundrum for human behavior in groups, but worth not giving up on.

I suppose I should go back to my profile and add pronouns.

There's been ripples in the wider Mastodon community for several days about mastodon.social's moderation, and people have been actively moving away from it. I hadn't seen talk about defederation, but it makes sense that people consider it if it's problems are being exposed one by one.

LOL there was **no** change to our moderation policy... none.. go check the internet archive... actually the one thing we did change is we made our hate speech rules more explicit..

I think ill add to the artricle his reply and show the internet archive's change to our ToC to highly that the only change to our ToC was to add more explicit protections to the LGBTQ community.

You are a pain in the ass Jeffrey. And you made a lot of unwanted contact about that situation. So I understand that many people and admins are fed up with that. But... (it's my opinion)

The right to be emotional about, and fight against false accusations, defamation, and unjust treatment, is far more critical than other people's "feeling of peace".

Women can be angry and it's not 'reverse sexism'

Non-cis people can be angry and it's not 'anticisideology'.

POC can be angry and it's 'reverse racism'

And QOTO admin can be angry about unjustified accusations and it's not 'harassment'.

in any case i think things need to be called out as what they are, lies and diffamation campaigns. this bullshit in the name of equality and justice is getting out of hand.
