@marathon@mastodon.online Yeah, I've made an account at .online as well to see what it's like. It's just like .social, just a lot less laggy. I still don't like the 500-character limit, and I had a dormant account on qoto, so the choice was easy. Especially since qoto has a character limit of 65535. :D

@marathon@mastodon.online remote-shell is gled's, though, not href's. Gled is our old hoster, href is the one with the consistently flaky server. I've contacted gled as well, but he doesn't know how to contact href either.

@marathon@mastodon.online Joke's on us, obviously. I was already contemplating a move, just had to decide on which server eventually. Mastodon.host going down without a warning merely expedited the process. Ever since the change of hoster it went downhill.

I've already tried emailing href, but since the random.sh domain is down and he likely self-hosted his email as well, chances of reaching him is kinda nihil. The domains exist, the server they linked to doesn't. And I don't know alternate ways of reaching him outside his servers.

@marathon@mastodon.online Not 100%. I found out this server I'm now on has a nice back history, so I could copy and paste my old posts off at least. But due to new Mastodon code (I think?) you can't see who followed or who I was following without checking it on the actual server itself.. which is kinda problematic if it's down. :P

@freemo But as you said, it was not a word at all. Could you then still speak of a word that has no definition in the dictionary? Since it is by its very nature a non-word? You might as well have some random adjacent letters in a dictionary and say 'hey, this is a word with no definition in a dictionary!'. ;)

@thor Well, Shakespeare was in the era that Old English got transitioned over to Modern English as we know today. Still blaming him, regardless!

And yeah, we're also largely phonetic-based with Dutch. Makes sense, y'know? Why spell a letter if you're not going to say it? Huh? Huhuh?

The British English often makes less sense than American English too. 'centre' vs 'center' for example. But then, why not spell 'littel' instead of 'little'?! Jeez.

@thor Old English actually was very close to Frysian. Then that Shakespeare fellow mucked it all up!
