@mur2501 I'm trying to grok what you said and whether you argued against something I said, since it isn't clear to me!

I meant: USA should be united because they have largely a common background (European immigrants), but they seem more divided than India is despite India's thousand-and-one different states/languages/cultures.

@mur2501 Not a nice way to go about it, but that's probably what happened here, yeah.

Here it'd be an insurance issue.

@mur2501 Honestly, with all this diversity I'm surprised you're still one state. :P I mean, USA is less diverse but look at them acting totally not united right now!

@256 I remember just staring at the stuff changing on screen. 'Ooh, that blue block will go.. there I bet! Ah yeah, called it!'

Man, what a waste of time this all was. :D

@mur2501 (If Dutch cops are involved. I don't know what India's rules are in traffic. If there is any. ;) )

@mur2501 It is actually pretty simple. If cops are involved to resolve this situation, the car with the cam will be at fault. 1) Driving too fast, and 2) Driving into another car from behind.

The other car probably will get a ticket too for reckless driving due to the swerve.

But the one 'at fault' will be the car with the cam.

@mur2501 Yes, that swerve was weird. But the car with the cam should've anticipated for that eventuality with the speed it was driving at.

@mur2501 Not sure I'd consider that funny, but it is a bit a weird accident. The car with the cam probably drove too fast.

@mur2501 🤨 That's pretty insane!

We had 11 provinces for a long time. The 12th one got added last century (1986) when we told the large body of water in our middle 'hey, we want this land' and the fake sea obeyed. 😋

Ok, there were a few details:

Belgium (originally part of Netherlands) gained independence in 1830. Ok, bye!

North-Holland and South-Holland provinces were one (large) province (Holland) ruled as 2 seperate entities, in 1840 they actually got split in 2 seperate provinces. They got a bit too big and cumbersome. Ok, hi!

And then you've got Flevoland that was reclaimed from the sea as mentioned earlier.

At least we didn't have 1001 changes like your country did in a shorter time span!

@chrism
Hrm, probably not. It's a bit behind and yellow definitely is safe to go through. That'd be a free 2 points to give away otherwise.

@josemanuel Oh I'm using my block and mute very liberally the last weeks. ;) But I guess there are people who want a gated community. In a way I can understand that, sometimes you just want a cozy blanket, heh.

But then... If you want that and if they're convinced others want that, you can always have your own instance where you only federate with certain instances. That's actually the power of a federation, it doesn't need to be -one- federation.

@erincandescent@queer.af Dutch has the same, 'vruchtvlees'. ;)

@josemanuel I think the recent concern might be that the latest mass migration might be filled with the kind of people that they don't want to see around.
So for them, instead of 95% of shit, it might be 99,99% of shit.

@mur2501 Amusing and very silly. Explains the current state of India, sex does not exist! 😋

@wauz@muenchen.social Parents can teach their kids 'baby-sign' which is basically sign language but a bit simplified of course. (they're babies after all)

They actually could hold whole conversations with their kids before they were even able to talk! It's amazing!

It definitely would be a huge advantage for pre-school kids to learn this skill!
@mur2501

@mur2501 Hehehe, you won't believe it but...
I got extremely ill and became severely hard of hearing at toddler age because of a virus carried over by dirty stray cats. 😋

Hearing got progressively worse over time, I was pretty much deaf when I was 10 or so years old. Hearing aids were only good to tell me 'oh hey, here is sound!' and started to annoy the fuck out of me. When I became a teenager I threw away my hearing aids, that was so much better for my sanity.

So yeah, I learned sign language only around age 10 or so.

@adamprocter Mmm, what about Dynalist, or is that too different from what you had in mind?

@mur2501 Huh, cool. 234 pages looks like, I might take a peek through this.
