Time to check if the kitchen is going to be hotter than outdoors soon.. Oven pizza is on the menu!

Definitely a time to relax right now. It's bloody hot outside. This morning was still nice, so I did very light gardening work then. Wouldn't be able to pull it off now anymore. Even in the shadow feels very warm.

@Pat Mmm, don't think I ever watched this. You reckon I should add it to my queue?

@Placholdr Don't you have other means of contacting the friend? Because you should've if it was indeed a precious friend.

Also, bummer.

@maddiefuzz @urusan Oh? Why? Genuinely curious since I don't know Ruby well at all.

@urusan Darn, if even a toddler thinks that.. time to clean it up?

@bezdarbor I find it amusing that his thread starts off with 'I am great at being organised, that's how I got a great career'... and then the comments below are all like 'It's not because of that, it's because of your wife!!!'

They do have a point heh.

@pennywhether Getting on a ladder for that particular tree I used it for is absolutely not an option. It's a tree with murder needles, and they sting, hard! Best to keep a distance and just cut it off like that instead. :D

@Pat I don't know how long my dad has had this one for. I only know that he could've let me know about it like.. a half year ago? When I could've used it too!

I really like this gardening tool. It's basically pruning shears on a telescopic handle, which you can cut with by pulling on that rope. I can cut branches 2 meter above my head with this toy. Might need one of 3 or 4 meter in the future, because the tree's a bit higher than I can reach currently.

But at least I've managed to trim off a lot of branches which were sticking out of the tree haphazardly. I'm also going to take a well-deserved shower because it's a lot hotter than I expected. A bit too hot to work, but I managed to do most of the job in the shadow which was nice.

I think I'm going to try out those trimming tools today that I borrow from my dad. Time to tame that tree with the murder needles!

@freemo That said, I just opened my backdoor as it's a gorgeous weather. My backyard is a closed and locked enclosure, so it's unlikely for anyone to just walk in. They'd have to climb the fences at the neighbours first, which is a lot of effort for a simple burglary.

@rastinza

@rastinza @freemo Forcing the lock can be hampered fairly easily with anti-burglar strips along the door frame (metal strips that makes it bloody hard to try to wiggle at the lock on the edges).

@freemo That might be your experience, but that won't be the case for everybody. I'd keep my front door locked even when I'm at home. (Being deaf is another factor to keep in mind). Though with our front doors you'd need to go through some considerable effort to keep it unlocked as they're all auto-locking, unlike most American front doors I've encountered.

And window breaking isn't common around here. It's a noisy act, you don't want to attract attention like that. Most of our front doors have large windows.

@rastinza

@freemo At least the deliveryperson did place it in a spot where it wasn't immediately seen, so yeah, ok good. But still, permission and all that, yadda yadda.

And I'd be really freaked out if they managed to walk into my house and leave it on my table...

Wtf, don't you lock your stuff when you're going out?!

@freemo It is *not* the norm here. Definitely not without permission.

At least this is the first time this has ever happened to me. Maybe it depends on the delivery company, but I'm now less likely to choose this one out of a list.
