@Paulos_the_fog That's because on the Fediverse those people usually get reported, and then the admin of the instances those accounts are on usually would take action. And if there's an instance which doesn't care, they usually would get blocked by other instances.

Just as a generalization, which is probably 80% correct.

Wait, you can see what you're replying to. Click on a toot and you see all the posts in a threaded view. That's what the quote-toot is breaking up too, then others can't see the full thread anymore when they click on your toot.

@Lunatech The quote-toot isn't quite meant to be used as a 'response' but to put the quoted toot in the spotlight where you add commentary to it. So it's kind of a different mindset there. If you want to properly respond, the reply button would be much better suited.

The edit feature will come in an upcoming update. We'll need another Mastodon dev for it as @freemo has no time to do it himself at the moment. If you know one.. ;)

@seislologist Hot Death Uno (a mobile app I play with modified Uno rules) handles this the same. The +5 wild cards on the other hand... 😏

@Lunatech You know that quote-toot is not a proper reply toot? If you don't mention the ones you quoted, they won't see your response, and it breaks the threading.

@yesjohn Agreed. I'm glad Horizon Zero Dawn had a 'story mode', where I sometimes felt a bit OP during combat. But I enjoyed the story alright. :D

@gpowerf Then you have my respect, because I find looking around and aiming with the right joystick very cumbersome.

@gpowerf I haven't had the fun yet of trying out a gyro like that. So, K+M it is until then. ;) But a game controller really doesn't do it for me for 3D games.

@mur2501 It's fairly quick. After that you can draw it over/adjust easily if the sketch was too sketchy.

@Lunatech The police academy in the US is a joke. 12 weeks of intensive training from what I can see.

Here, the police academy is a real institution and the shortest course I can see is 2 years for basic college level. There are even BA and MA trajects, which takes a bit longer than 2 years. It's a real education.
