@ClaraListensprechen4 Ctrl-F5 to make sure? I can't believe they would defederate.

@freemo @IAmErik @sergeant Good call re Proton DB. Since I'm a Steam User, Steam would be easier for me. :)

@freemo @IAmErik @sergeant Depends on the games, of course. I'd say checking the game profile pages on Steam might be helpful to see at a glance whether it is 'definitely supported' to 'Maybe I have to tweak things'.

@freemo @IAmErik @sergeant Not quite 'most' yet, but it's getting pushed hard. You can check per game what the status is. There's fair amount of 'Verified' games for the Steam Deck, those you can usually count on supporting Linux. (Some 'verified' seem to be sketchy though, but majority should be fine)
At least 'verified' is in the thousands now.

@atomicpoet The Fediverse, or Threads? (Considering it's not federated yet)

@IAmErik @freemo @sergeant I would say Proton. Valve's working very hard to make many games accessible under Linux. Check it out with SteamOS. It's not for nothing that Valve's Steam Deck is starting to be very popular now.

@realcaseyrollins People there and on Bluesky basically see the fediverse as extreme control freaks in endless warfare with each other, and having to pick a server knowing which servers are at war with any other is insane, and being banned, blocked or defederated for extremely innocuous things. I think they are basically correct

@osfast @sergeant Ik snap het niet. Ik krijg het hier niet koel van... 👀

@sergeant @freemo If you want I could run Linux in a VM to placate you. 😋

But hey, I have a steam deck running arch Linux (which I still have to learn about but I recently got the dock for it so that should be easier). Valve did a great job with Linux/Proton support. But it isn't 100% yet but I'm eagerly following this development.

At the moment windows is still more convenient for me. But I'm sure that won't be the case in 10 years at most.

@freemo @sergeant And let this software need the GPU... :P

What about just leaving my choice of OS alone? This isn't the first time we've had this discussion. :P

@freemo @sergeant Nope, I checked upon it but Affinity Suite and Linux aren't compatible yet.

@freemo @sergeant I'm glad more and more games work on Linux since I do think that's the future. But not all do yet. Plus software I have to use for job.

@sergeant @freemo I'm a gamer, still most convenient on windows. Plus my job. :P

@freemo There's a little software called YoloMouse. Could try that out. ;)

@freemo Yeah, enable them. Those features are life savers! Well, sanity savers! Whatever is left anyway.

@freemo That's why I've enabled the 'click CTRL to have your mouse pointer give some visual clue' in Windows. Man..
