@viyansoran Heya. Just a little protip. If there's abuse to be seen in pictures, it's probably a good idea to mark your pictures as sensitive. Not everybody in the Fediverse want to see abuse, it might be triggering for some people.

What I dislike though is the dogpiling upon those opinions. 'Yeah you're right!' 'No, that's ridiculous' 'Oh yeah we're doomed!' 'We should defederate now!' ... I'm reading too much of the same now, heh.

@alecui Well, with privacy I meant not scanning your email to serve you ads with like Gmail does. I know it's all automated but I think it's not nice. I don't necessarily need encrypted stuff like ProtonMail and Tutanota. In fact, I find that a bit less convenient because you gotta use special clients or a bridge software.

@alecui Besides ProtonMail/Tutanota/Startmail I don't really know of other 'trusted' services with privacy in mind. But lemme know what you ultimately end up with and whether you had to compromise. :)

@alecui Just making sure, Gmail or ProtonMail? Gmail allows you via the uh.. what's it called again.. Gmail for workgroups or so? So a paid plan. ProtonMail allows you to if you're a paid user.

Am half pondering Startmail myself. Am currently a full Gmail user because the Gmail interface is hard to beat with some plugins.

Remember that there's part of the Twitter crowd lamenting about having to choose a server? Oh oh oh, so difficult.

Chances are they probably have Instagram. Hey, we can join this stupid Fediverse! And we don't have to choose a server! HAH THAT WILL TEACH THEM! (Let's ignore the fact that Instagram is basically 'their server' and in a way they did choose.)

There are always people too stupid to poop. But they can at least join the Fediverse and chances are they are already so used to ads... I mean, there are still people on Facebook, no?
