@IntegralDuChemin What's this event about? I don't quite get it. From what I've seen, it looks like it's inaccessible to deaf people anyway as it seems to be live videos without captions.
@mur2501 I imagine it's probably the small ones that's tricky to deal with. So even though those 2 look big and imposing, the smaller ones are probably more dangerous to encounter? They can hide in so many more places!
@allo If the whole deal is flexible enough for that, then that sounds like it'd work. 👍
@allo Doesn't look like it ought to be like that. After all, shouldn't you use the screwhole below to fix the SSD in place?
@JonathanMBR Y'know, my country has 3 snakes species. The biggest of those 3 is at most 130cm. Only one of those 3 is poisonous (but generally not deadly for humans). And I've never seen them around.
@mur2501 Yeah, at least you don't die of venom. You just get crushed very slowly and painfully until your body simply decides to implode.
Would carrying a pocket knife around for defense help? When it starts to coil around you, you just hack away on it? (In case you're alone)
@mur2501 Aha! And I gather that the bite might also be painful? I mean.. yeah, well, it's not going to gently nibble I suppose... 😋
@mur2501 I've read they taste like chicken? ;)
@JonathanMBR
@mur2501 I was wondering about that. In my eyes it looked like the python wanted to bite as if it was a venomous snake. I was a bit confused by that, I'd have expected it to have a different attack method.
@JonathanMBR Cool. And I think I have bigger problems than this if there ever would be a python in my homestead. ;)
What's going to happen to the python? Will he be released in the wilderness far away from humans and cattle?
@ayo Or they found an actual vulnerability that you've overlooked! ![]()
@mur2501 Nice article, good captions so I could follow along fine. I liked how they used old phones and tablets to show their faces in. :)
And I definitely recognize those issues. Our recycling center in town has various categories, one of them is electronics waste, I've dumped old electronics in there before. I certainly hope they got recycled!
I also happen to know a buddy who works in a recycling company. Mostly large appliances like microwaves and washers. But also small stuff like an ancient pocketbook. That was pretty cool when he sent me a picture of one he found.
I'm also annoyed that devices back then were easier to repair than now. They've nearly made it impossible now, I noticed that too. If I need to replace a battery now? Tough luck. Back then it was easier. This way you're easily forced to replace your device every 1-2 years, which is kinda ridiculous.
Companies have a responsibility too. Some phone companies are like 'Hey, if you join our subscription model, you can choose a new phone every 2 years!', even if the old device was still perfectly fine. I know people who gladly made use of that every time, even though they were still happy with their old phones. I'm like.. "why?" and they're like.. "because they enabled me to!"
Hopefully that mentality's changed now, since this was like 10 years ago. But even back then I was shaking my head at that ridiculous frivolity with tech.
@lupyuen Aw, get well soon. At least you've got Mike Wazowski to keep you company!
@V Amazing, innit? Not bad for an old movie! Have you watched the rest of the series?
I'm at that phase in this (yet another) side project where I'm using Krita to make graphic assets instead of GIMP
GIMP has gotten better. Lots better. But it's probably not a good sign when younger programs leave you in the dust in the UX department
"More powerful" is relative and, ultimately, your ability to use it comfortably for days on end matters
@freemo Congratulations on having such a split personality that every person has their own distinct style of writing and spelling. ;) (In other words, I'm not buying their story.)
@sean So is one of his poses going to be the slapping on his cheeks in that iconic fashion? ;)
@thor Except for Studio Ghibli, I agree with you there. ;)
@collectedoverspread 👍 Much appreciated! Hopefully we'll read more 'bout it!

This one is now a backup account, my activities on Qoto will be low.

Used to be on another mastodon server regularly, but it's been inaccessible since November 2020. So I've decided to join Qoto instead! I like the features this server has to offer.
