Looks like despite some twiddling needed (scroll wheel, bearings), it sounds like it's still thoroughly worth it!
(I assume you meant rubber bearings instead of ruby? Or?)
(I do see a bunch of tutorials how to replace those bearings, so it looks totally doable, thankfully!)

Bit a bummer about some software inconsistencies. Maybe some solution can be found eventually. Software drivers are always a bit arcane to me!

There was still some snow when I woke up. I threw some snowballs at my cat, he caught some of them in mid-air. Brr, cold. He agreed and fled inside when he'd had enough. 😋

@marathon Yeah, my cat was with me since he was 7 weeks old. I rarely give treats though. He gets his daily dryfood, and then a sachet of wetfood during dinner time.

My parents on the other hand, they get waken up pretty early regularly because their cats wanted to eat. That's what you get for giving wetfood in the morning, I guess. ;)

@marathon I always have to force cuddle mine, and do it at least once a day. 😋 Though sometimes he asks for a li'l pat on his head. During feeding time he's always extra affectionate, as if he'd not get food otherwise, heh.
