@lurker There's also another trick that this server (qoto) specifically uses: RSS subscriptions.

If you can't follow anyone for whatever reason, you can RSS-subscribe to them within qoto's interface. It's that wifi-looking button next to the follow button.

The people won't get notified of this either, and you can easily follow all their public toots.

@lurker Glad that helped! It mainly filters out foreign-language-instances. The few foreign-language-users that are on English instances probably won't get filtered out, but that should not be as massive as a whole instance. :)

@amicalucis Seeing as I don't drink alcohol, I'm inclined to agree with you there. :D

But I can see why people want to have a glass sometimes. I'd say like 2 glasses a week? That should be doable, right?

But many people drink a lot more than should be normal and they normalize it, that's bad. :(
