@freemo @mxtthxw @PawelK There's more meat on Musk. Could make a lot of kebabs outta him! 😋

(Dunno if he'd taste as good tho)

@RobinLacassin Not sure. I seem to see parts of roads and viaducts. Maybe something special is located at the visible bits?

@PawelK I was most impressed by the two men dancing onto the stairs sideways.

@bibliolater Excellent! Hope your experience here has improved greatly! :)

@worldsendless Aw. Well, I understand your pain re muscle memory. ;)

Just like when I encounter a non-US101 keyboard with the silly upside-down-L-shaped enter button. Ohhhh gods. Pain pain pain!

@freemo Tell that the parent organization of our school. They took over our school that's existed for over 2 centuries now. Now that org, which is probably at most a few decades old, makes the claim that they've existed 'for 200 years!'... 🤨

So I'll just follow suit. Us humans invented the damn flute, and that's that! *Stomps on floor*

@freemo Considering that the majority of humanity have like 2% Neanderthal-DNA (I think I've read that somewhere), we can make the claim anyway! Ha!

@worldsendless Heh, I've tried Dvorak a long time ago for a bit, and could type okay with it. But it's not really practical as I'd go to other locations and would need to bring a dvorak keyboard specifically with me. Just like you're experiencing right now. ;)

@kefir It's good you asked, and in the future this option'll be available. :)

@bibliolater Also, if you currently use a theme that has a name that starts with 'Mastodon instance ticker', I suggest to switch to another theme. The ticker-based themes are slowing down your browsing experience because it tries to connect to a ticker service that's down now.

@bibliolater Okay. I've checked various dark themes here (not all of them) and none of them seem to use a dark background for the writing box.

I use 'Mastodon Default Theme (dark)' myself which is reasonably pleasing to the eye, but I agree the writing part should be dark too. So for myself I use Dark Reader plugin for my browser (Chromium-based, not Firefox), and that makes everything nice dark, even the writing part. See image for what the dark theme with Dark Reader combined looks like on my side.

They do have a plugin for Firefox, their Github page is at github.com/darkreader/darkread
Dark Reader can also do high contrast if desired. It's configurable.

I hope this information is useful.

@bibliolater I don't know if this is of use for you, but I use the Dark Reader plugin (for Chromium-based browsers) which turns the background of the input box dark as well.

I also would recommend using a theme that doesn't use tickers as the ticker service is down and this might slow down the themes that use them.

@sergeant It would be the opposite with me. I'd have to turn on a light and then I'd be really blind for a bit.

@kefir We're going to upgrade this server soon (ETA unknown as of yet) which likely would include the option to set language per post.

In the meantime.. I guess just post anyway?

@sergeant Then you chose the wrong animal here. :)

I'd suggest a blind mole, but they're actually pretty good at navigating in the dark too. 🤔

@theonetotheleft That's why you find your community first with an instance with house rules you like. Sure, rules can change over time but if that instance's any good it'll be announced in advance.

Be glad you're not an admin or moderator, that's a bit more annoying. ;)

That said, welcome back to Qoto. :) Things might've improved bigtime since 4 years ago. Relax and have fun!
