sad truth: as long as instances like .art keep moderating as they do ("proactively", guilt-by-association, etc.), Mastodon and the fediverse as a whole will stagnate.
I get that people want to keep it "manageable", but you also want more people to adopt the concept and ideology so we are not dependent on centralized services.
but new users will leave right away if they have to deal with federation issues if they can't interact with friends.
@atomicpoet Could you elaborate on the bad ergonomics part? Just curious.

Please write alt text, it not only helps sight impaired people, but also people with bad connection, out of data, trying to save battery, or browsing in places where unexpected inappropriate images can cause trouble. It's the normal thing to do
@jasonetheridge I dunno, I found the animations terrible, lol. It'd probably impress me more if they could show part of it the old way, because my memory's very hazy. Been over 10 years ago I played WoW. Mm, or 20 years ago by now.

@lovepastrami I suspect this might not be possible on Qoto as we have a different method for following hashtags on this modified server. Vanilla Mastodon added this feature later, but we likely don't have the same calls for this feature that Ivory can recognize.
Try following those hashtags via the website, and see if they will show up in the client?
(Settings > Follows and subscriptions > Following hashtags)
