Have helped set up a 'Tovertafel' at job (a beamer with sensors to interact with the stuff, projected onto a table or floor). Next week I'll help calibrate it further and try to get it connected to the school's WiFi.

Thing's kinda cute. The default games are a bit meh, but I think they'll be great for kindergarten. Once we actually get connected we might have access to a boatload more fun games which'll be great for the whole school.

Played another fine session of Horizon Zero Dawn. Deeply immersed in the main story, and saw some epic moments. More cutscenes than before because those epic moments are getting so epic that they can't be captured well in normal gameplay. I'm close to finding out my character's origin, and the 'why' of things.

The latest chain of events in the game got finished at a nice time, it's about bedtime now. ;) Another time I'll continue and possibly be close to finishing this game.
Achievements-wise I might be close to around 90% completion, I don't think I'll bother with the 100% for a while if ever.

There are a lot of sites where you can buy ebooks and actually own it. Store it on your harddisk or wherever (Calibre is a nice tool for it!) and keep them forever.

An iPad is just a tablet with a bright screen. I can recommend an actual ereader, a tablet with eink. Can be as cheap or as expensive as you want. I still use my ancient Sony PRS-T2 and so does my mom.

You also don't have to read it in one sitting, and you can start out with easier and/or thinner books too. I mean, reading books is a skill you have to develop, and it sounds like you're kinda out of it atm so don't expect to be back into it fully without flexing your reading muscles a little bit first.

@bwbeach I had to think a bit about the puzzle, but I finally figured out a solution on my own, whew. This kind of puzzle always trips you up into the 'obvious' solution first until you realize that it cannot be right.

The pipes seem to be a done deal as they were used in gas extraction in the ocean before, I believe. We already have the infrastructure, we just need to repurpose them.

I think there'll always be some sort of electricity power loss over vast distances, not entirely sure the details. I merely watched a documentary/news on TV about what we're going to do with those old gas extraction plants. I think not just wind power but also ocean current power would be utilized.

Pumped hydro would be kind of impossible here in The Netherlands, we can't have dams.. after all where would we have the height difference? ;) But we have plenty of ocean and water around us and we already have wind parks.

And with regards to nuclear plants, I understand there are blueprints for smaller plants that can power a few cities at the same time. When one goes down, it's less of a danger than one huge plant. They would be a bit faster to build too and easier to maintain. I hope that it'll be an improvement and easier to build so that it can be deployed much easier and faster.
