@antares I had to zoom in, but wow.

The whole of humanity summed up in one pixel.

@quest There's no standard convention on which hashtags to use. When you type in a toot and have to ponder which hashtag spelling to use, you could in the meantime search for those hashtags and see which one(s) are the most common to join in with the crowd. 'Tis what I do too. Most common style I have seen are PascalCaseHashtags. (And also recommended so blind people with screen readers would be able to interpret this correctly instead of one very long word that becomes undecipherable).

@Waldemar @quest That is correct. Consider a list an extension of your home timeline. If you follow a few people who might be very spammy and drown out everyone else you follow, you can decide to make a 'spam list' for them. Or you can decide to have lists by category like 'gaming' 'gardening' and put in the followers in the most approrpiate list. That way you can keep your home timeline fairly tidy.

@quest I use the mobile web interface because the site is very mobile friendly. Also the apps only support standard Mastodon features, the extra features as listed in the About page wouldn't be available in them. The web interface would enable you to use all features. You're free to use the apps of course, just be mindful that there might be limitations.

@quest Basic features are common across all Mastodon instances. Check our About page to see the extra features that Qoto has to offer.

@quest For now Qoto has a delete & redraft feature (but it'll break comments and stars, as if it's a new post). Qoto'll be upgraded soon to also include the edit feature.

As a sequel to the smash hit “Dogs”, Cats

@nullifidian And after that post-nap snacks.. then I'm sure they'll come up with more reasons why they need a snack!

@kurtsh @grudgecat Yes, this server'll be updated soon to include that feature as well. ;)

@quest There is a delete & redraft option, but it'll mean you lose all comments and faves on it.

But this server is going to be updated soon, then the edit feature will be added. :)

@gpowerf I believe I have this exact same TV model as displayed in that picture. :D It's somewhere in the attic.

Question on #Mastodon replies and CW functionality

@davoloid

1) There's an option in the settings to automatically have all CW opened by default, if that's what you'd like. It'll be for all toots.

2) It's in replied-to order. Bit hard to grasp it at first, but eventually you'll see the logic of the order.

3) No. That's an algorithmic approach, it's not fully tracked here due to the federated nature. It'd never be reliable, so it's not worth bothering adding those features.

@tavoglc The server's going to be upgraded soon, a translation feature will be added then.

@HauntedOwlbear Oh, that is what a big box collection is.

I flattened all my boxes and put them in a large box... can't get rid of them. But also can't display them due to space.

@spacex@brands.town You got me there. I wondered why it was so great to replace them every 12-24 months. I gotta keep an eye on the instance domain name. ;)

Having been here since 2016, I can tell you there is definitely no such thing as a consensus on usage of content warnings on the fediverse. It's a decentralized network that doesn't belong to any one party, so by definition there is no single culture on it. Different corners have different expectations and customs.

@timnitGebru @aurynn @CaribenxMarciaX They'd be so wrong, since the 'local timeline' is really a thing, and that is definitely a 'here' to me.

@DavitMasia
Default Mastodon doesn't offer this option. But there are modified instances which have added this feature.
A known Mastodon-fork offering this would be Mastodon Glitch, for example.
