@jq Mm, that poke doesn't look too bad, I wouldn't mind trying it out. But it better be somewhat seasoned with something, because otherwise I find fish tasting pretty bland.

Dunno what traditional Hawaiian would be like. But if it involves pineapples I'm out!

Dutch food is good. Feel free to imagesearch the following stuff:

- Mosterdsoep
- Erwtensoep

The majority look like winter meals, and yes, they're great for the winter time too.

@jq Although to be more correct, I grew up with Dutch-Indonesian food. The food for the colonists, basically.

@jq I'm totally no authority on sushi either. But I don't mind trying it out. I mean, I've been eating raw fish from a young age. Nothing beats the Dutch salty herring!

That said, I have no clue what a 'poke' is. 😅

But in general, I do like Japanese food. But then I like most of the Asian food, and I grew up with Indonesian food. So there.

@skanman It'd have to be in other fish than in sushi I'm afraid. 😋

@jq Sure. Freemo said there's more to sushi than the kind I mostly envisioned, which'd be the raw fish wrapped in rice. I've eaten it but I found it totally bland, and that you had to drown it soy sauce to get some sort of taste I found totally useless because you might as well drink soy sauce.

But I like those little tempuras and such, but am not quite sure when to call something sushi or not.

Was that thought provoking, or totally unprovoking? 😋

@ceoln Damn, they're all great wallpaper material. If I had to choose, it might be the 3rd pic because it's so nicely whimsically surreal.

@derickflorian Thanks! Maybe I should try to do that too, though I'm not really a shields person in general. I prefer to dodge. It doesn't always work out. 😅

@derickflorian Do you have to actively block to actually block? Rightclick, isn't it? Or does it already do a fair job of blocking without you needing to do anything besides carrying it in your offhand?

That way you can verify via a site you own that this account is indeed your Mastodon account.

@robryk And I agree with you. I have to see what'll happen when we get around to updating our server to their version as well. Some features are nice, but not everything's an improvement.

@robryk Something that's useful to know for the future:

You can copy any Mastodon-links in your Qoto search bar, and it'll open those links within your Qoto interface, which might be more useful to you.

Additionally, clicking on the user icon on their profile page within Qoto's interface will lead to their original profile page on their own instance.

@robryk When I go to https://mastodon.social/@foone very specifically, I'd see that they've moved and you would see the 'Go to profile'.

Then after clicking 'Go to profile' it'd load the profile INSIDE the interface of mastodon.social. (which is annoying, but ok)

Then indeed go to those 3 dots and 'Go to original page', and you'd finally end up where you want to be.

I agree, 'Go to profile' should just go to the profile on the moved-to instance immediately. Staying within mastodon.social's interface is more useful if you have an account over at mastodon.social.

@robryk Maybe it helps if I logged out off mastodon.social in the first place to test this out... (yes I have a few accounts around the Fediverse, including this).
