The real Fediverse is really very fragmented with some instances very happily blocking other instances for the silliest reasons.

The image that I provide here might be a bit more spot on, though I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually worse than this in reality.

Also I think most people look at this from the wrong perspective. It's more a guarantee that UFoI members aren't blocking each other, guaranteeing that there's at least a piece of the Fediverse communicating with each other. If you don't wish to partake in this, just don't join.

I think this is a more positive approach than shouting 'FEDIBLOCK! FEDIBLOCK!'

@derickflorian Our receptionist was out of the running for almost 2 weeks when she got infected 2 years ago. She got infected again about a week ago and was back within like 3 days. Vaccinations are a thing. :)

I guess it might be less terrible for you as well in this 2nd round. It still sucks of course, and the long term effects of an infection are still unknown as of yet.

And that's why @freemo is so eager to get UFoI going. The Fediverse sounds like a very superstituous bunch at the moment. Lots of acting based off hearsay.

@baklavades Yeah, except that it seems a bit buggy. Have experienced that they respond to posts without a @-mention since Friendica itself apparently handles responses differently.

@shibaprasad Did he have a wife (your mother) who did *everything* at home? Shopping, cooking, cleaning, raising, whatevering?

Nowadays such a thing is impossible as both would have to work to survive.
