@s_gruppetta @hynek Not only Qoto, the Quote-toot isn't limited to Qoto. Anyone using the Mastodon Glitch edition should be able to see the quote, as well as anyone using Pleroma or Misskey instances. It's a fairly standardized part of the Fediverse, except for default Mastodon.

@Pat I went off the line of stuff clinging to a cat's fur that is hard to remove, and deviated from the original post about clinging via static charges.

@MsHouseMD Welcome to Qoto!

If that instance happens to have blocked qoto.org, it can happen that the migration feature won't work. 😔

@Pat (Although that's got nothing to do with charges)

@Pat And those plants whose seeds are sneakily clingy to fur, and you only start to notice it when petting them...

@abde
Begin of fall: doable
End of fall: miserable

My opinion. :P Getting colder and wetter.

But the day you've picked in that pic is beautiful and looks nice. :)

@Pat At least those are fairly large peanuts...

Now it's annoying when the stuff are smaller pellets and you always miss a few!

@kotik Gotta be careful you're not grabbing the wrong one to snack on. ;)

@voutlook Just a heads up that a Quote isn't quite the same as a response. If you intended to reply to them, the Reply feature would be better suited.

@bykimbo @bluehazy

Oh yeah, I might want to add some clarification.

A boost is a retweet without quote, and only your followers get to see the boost. You can't add your own commentary (but you could comment to the post you boosted). The boosted person will get notified that their post got boosted to your followers.

Qoto has some extra features (as can be seen in qoto.org/about/more ) which inclues the quote.

A quote is a 'first post' (so if you quoted a comment, it won't be inside that conversation thread, it'll be its own toot with just that comment quoted in and some of your commentary above it), won't notify the quoted person, and will be sent to the whole Fediverse.

If you intended to have it as a response to the quoted person, I'd recommend the Reply instead to conserve the conversation thread.

Did I hopefully explain the difference somewhat coherently? 😅

@joseortiz Then you definitely are in the right place. 🙂

@bluehazy
I can answer 1 and 2 at the same time! 😅 They're basically retweets without quotes.

@joseortiz Excellent, welcome to Qoto and the Fediverse! Enjoy the ride! :)

@Spinybadger
The Phrazle I am playing is over at solitaired.com/phrazle which includes a few more variations in the same site which is nice.

I'm lately particularly fond of Octordle's rescue variant. Trying to see if you can still save the mess that gets presented. :)
