@waded I know a server only allowing E's.

And another not allowing E's.

It was fun when they met each other. ;)

@dongwookgo 😎 It's too dark here, I don't see a thing!

(Yes)

@obi @anson The instances usually would indeed put it on their about page, and that's automatic, so should be uptodate.

The instances NOT showing their blocklists at all... now that's kinda a red flag since chances are the blocklist is so huge they hide it to not scare away the users. That's the take we have anyway.

@louisechavarie Welcome to Qoto!

There is no 'other side of twitter', the Fediverse has been around for years and is a social media in its own right.

@peterdrake Lol, ew. Was that also the last time anyone tried to explode a whale? ;)

@knuppelbeer Ik vind die behind the scenes veel leuker dan de daadwerkelijke film. :D

@AnnTelope @EduCrave @SandyKendell I welcome talks about cats and Star Trek! 😁

Don't worry too much. Although this server is STEM-oriented, we totally welcome all other side talk like your hobbies or whatnot. It's simply the place where we geeks can nerd out about stuff. 😊

@JamesHMcLaren Yeah, I see there is a certain kind of 'dream logic' involved. ;)

@ramones Jeetje, dat zijn wel hele kleine geiteboutjes.. ik bedoel, dat zijn wel heel kleine schatteboutjes!

@macilias I'm wondering why one even would care about that here.

@Tornflakes Qoto's a STEM focused server but you can basically talk about whatever, even your hobbies.

I know glitch does have markdown support. Not sure about the rest. You'd have to create an account on one of those other instances to see. At the very least they should probably be able to see all those markdown characters.

Actually, I just checked. Pleroma should have similar markdown support. Misskey has maybe their own flavor of markdown support so not sure how compatible it is (but they have a shitton of other feature that nobody else has).

@DapperVibes Don't know about replacing those, but this is a social media by its own right.

@Tornflakes I can highly recommend turning on the 'slow mode' for your sanity's sake. :)

@s_gruppetta @hynek We figured out that mastodon.social does strip any markdown-related characters. But I do not know whether that's due to the version (4.0.0rc3) used on mastodon.social, or that it is mastodon.social-specific. We noticed that on other servers running 3.5.3 the markdown characters were visible (and one could run a greasemonkey script to convert that to the stylized form).
