First to make a few things clear:
I am autistic myself.
And I have a fairly good understanding of what those kids might go through.

What if they actually _like_ analyzing data and all that? Computers be damned, they're just tools, doesn't mean humans can't have a shot at it too.
Sometimes I am hyperfocused myself, then I make ridiculous lists of lists and whatnot. Waste of time? Oh, _absolutely_, you bet! But was it satisfying to me? Oh _yeah_!

They'll have plenty of time to learn how to socialize, but does that mean you need to put them in a fascist regime that only forces them to socialize and never have _fun_?

After one evening of socializing, I'll be _happy_ to have 3 weeks of no human contact. I don't hate humans, it is just that social contact is _utterly exhausting_.

Maybe try to understand _that_.

I got interested in this #UFOI stuff lately and it makes my brain hurt and heart sink. What a drama on all sides.

I think it's a great example of #MastoAdmin silly games and feuds at the expense of users of these instances. An admin A does not like admin B and that is the reason for blocking thousands of users of B's instance from thousands of users of A. And that we call "moderation", right? Nice! (mind you, if B's users are ugly people in A's userbase opinion _en masse_, that's another story)

I even read from somebody that all what is wrong with an instance is that its users tend to be mildly annoying and that's a good reason to defederate the instance (https://witches.live/@anna/109480217595539880). Lovely. And that's how we want to become a better alternative to corporate social networks? Good luck boys and girls in the #MastoAdmin world! This way you only lose trust of us, the normal users of this network.

I saw a post on Reddit about how to cancel an Adobe subscription without the asshole "early cancellation fee" and figured it's worth sharing:

1. Login to your adobe account
2. Go to plans and payments
3. Find your current plan and select "Manage Plan"
4. The third box on the right should say "Cancel Plan"
5. It will ask you why, tell them "Go fuck yourself" and press continue
6. It will offer you to change plans, select "Photography plan (20GB)" - $9.99
7. Confirm the change
8. Now go back to your Plans and it may say "You'll be able to manage this plan shortly" and that's because there is a waiting period after starting a plan, probably to ensure you forget to cancel or something. Took about an hour for it to go away, so if it's there just walk away and refresh the page every 15 minutes or so.
9. Once you are able to manage your plan, repeat steps 3, 4, and 5. This time actually cancel the plan. There will be no early cancellation fee AND you'll be refunded the $9.99.

Fuck adobe.

Hello: has any scientist on here abandoned Twitter for Mastodon entirely? I’m looking to speak to you for a story I’m writing

Eine Woche ist schon vergangen wo die Pretty bei mir zur Pflege eingezogen ist. Größer als gedacht hat sich aber auch die kleine im Herzen eingebrannt.
Man möchte nicht wissen was die kleine Seele schon alles mitgemacht hat. Langsam kann sie auch etwas entspannen. Sie liebt lange Runden, ist aber bei fremden Leute noch sehr argwöhnisch.
In der Wohnung kann sie auch schonmal bellen wenn draußen ungewohnte Geräusche sind, aber sie hört auch schnell wieder auf. Mit Oskar kommt sie klar, ein Liebespaar müssen wie beiden ja auch nicht werden.
Die Autofahrten sind mit ihr gar kein Problem, auch die Bahnfahrten wurden von Tag zu Tag besser.
Was jetzt nur noch fehlt ist ein liebevolles Zuhause. Vielleicht findet sich ja noch eins und die kleine Maus kann Weihnachten relaxt in ihr neues Zuhause verbringen.

I turned off notifications of likes and boosts. I suspect it's healthier that way. I like that this product isn't optimized to capture my attention, provide the dopamine rush, or try to make me care about making my numbers go up.
