@olives Fair. ;) But this one seems to tout a few more features than usual. Anyway, I'm probably going to check this one out for myself. Firefish.social itself didn't give me a good impression as it's slow as heck, but maybe it'll be snappier on our own server.

@piggo My right foot tells me that it very well is not.

Fuck mosquitoes.

@atomicpoet Do you need to stay near your PS5 to use that PSPortal? I'm not really sure how it intends to stream. I've not checked up any details about that thing but I'm plenty confused about its purpose.

@olives Well, yeah, firefish.social has blocked qoto.org, indeed. But the software still looks interesting to me. It's got a few features which isn't in Mastodon, and which Qoto touts as 'unique features'. ;)

@Amikke Yeah, I've read about that. :) I've seen the first episode at least but I need to re-access Prime, I guess I should do a call so I can continue watching. ;)

Oh and then there's also The Sandman, also touching this genre. Also by Gaiman. Right, I think I've got a few series to binge soon.

@tonwood It usually does the job of a ctrl+click. In my case it'd be easily opening a link in a new tab, and I use that a lot.

In games it has various purposes. The most common one being able to pan in a map.

You sure you don't have a middle button? Usually there's a scroll wheel, and you can use it as a button too by pressing on it.

@olives What about Firefish? It's a fork of Misskey/Calckey, and no language barriers from what I see.

@szescstopni Outch. 😬 Hope you stay safe then! That flamethrower is starting to sound like a valid option. πŸ˜…

@szescstopni The end of you? Are you deathly allergic then? Or is it the end of you that you end up flailing your arms like crazy and then knocking yourself out this way?

@Amikke Just watched the trailer. It looks absolutely ridiculous, lol. Probably a bit too over the top for my genre itch. Seems available here on KPN and Disney+, neither do I have. Yet. But I'll keep it in mind.

Though the visuals of the trailer lightly reminded me of Good Omens, which is available on Prime and I can arrange access to that one. Mm, might actually try to continue watching that one later, because that does touch this genre as well.

@LouisIngenthron The only streaming service I can find available to us having this is SkyShowtime Nederland, and that's said to be atrocious and subpar subtitles. So, alas. Maybe in the future, I think I should jot this down. After all, I did the same for the genre 'bunch of old people solving murder mysteries'. ;)

@LouisIngenthron No, I haven't. It looks like that isn't available on the Dutch Netflix here either.

I currently enjoy watching The Worst Witch on Netflix. The 2017 series, not the 1998 one. I did watch some of the latter on TV before, but visually that sucked.

I guess I like the concept of a witch academy. I mean, I have enjoyed Wednesday as well, and Little Witch Academia. Oh, and let's not forget Harry Potter, shall we? Though I enjoyed the books far more than the movies.

Might be that I actually enjoy stories that's in the real world but have a connection with the magical unknown. I know I've read a few great books with this concept, like The Dream Merchant (Dutch: De gevleugelde kat), and The Cabinet of Wonders (Dutch: De ogen van Kronos).

Mm, I think it might be time to revisit a few books I have. Got a little itch now to check out this genre again.

@knuppelbeer Heb je al in een Fries dorpje aan een meer gezocht?

@lydiaconwell Just meat won't make my farts the Farts of Doom<tm> though.

@lydiaconwell I guarantee when I eat beans and onions, my farts are the death. 😬
